Default Header Heat shield removal help!!!

Last weekend I tried pulling the shield out to paint it silver but couldn't get the shield over a bolt because of the position of the 02 sensor. I had myself and two people working on it with me, but we couldn't get the sensor out. Instead of tripping something I said screw it and ended up painting my radiator brackets instead.

This makes me frustrated , i am hoping one of you has some simple answer to get that thing out, its a manual by the way.

Simple steps:

Take the stud out with a pair of pliers or visegrips.
Discard stud.
Replace with bolt.
Thank yourself.

With the stud removed, you can just slide the cover off over the O2 sensor. No need to remove it.
