Default Headlight bulb blowing out...

So, a couple weeks ago my passenger headlight went out. I went to autozone and bought a replacement silverstar bulb (mind you, I have had these bulbs for only 3/4 of a year). I noticed last night that my passenger headlight is out again. Grrrr. I did a quick look and there isn't any condensation on the inside of the light and I didn't notice any exposed wires when I changed the bulb a couple weeks ago. What could be causing this?

should try putting dielectric grease on the contacts... if you look at the pigtails and you see burn marks it means its arcing.. but other than that i dont know.. so if they're scorched replace the pigtails and apply dielectric grease on aftermarket bulbs..

Negative. I had disposable gloves on both times.

I had them on as a precaution. I didn't touch the bulb, just the gray base.

my car was doing this, just try cleaning the contacts up, you can use vinegar and something to brush it (I used an acid brush). Then apply the dielectric grease. In my case the bulb wasn't burning out, just cutting in and out.

Well, my lowbeam Silverstar Ultras also went out last week. I've had them for about a year +/- 1 month or so. First the passenger's side 2-weeks back , then the driver's this past week.
I was surprised too, I thought they'd last longer than that. Good thing I still had my orig. ones. Ima have to wait for a good rebate to buy another set. Oh well.

That's a little comforting to hear. I ended up putting the stocks back on when the first one blew out. I actually don't remember if I put the new one in the driver's side or passenger's side. So, I'm going to go to autozone tonight and get another one and see if this one blows out. If it does, I'll clean the contacts and use the grease.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
