I just bought those exact ones... I threw some HID's in there too... They're not bad for the money...

awesome thanks man. i really like the way they look.

quick question about the install. did you actually have to take the bumper off or could you just have undone the plastic wheel well.

Yea, because you have to get to the pink wire under the bumper cover for a first-time install. That pink wire is a factory pre-wiring for the factory fog lights. These aftermarket fog kits come with the rest of the pieces such as a relay, harness, and a switch to finish off the wiring and activate power to that pink wire. Plus, for this particular fog light kit and the way it mounts to the bumper it would be a very tight and hard install if you were to leave the bumper cover on (maybe even impossible)... It's really not hard to take it off, I did it in ~5min.

You don't have to take the bumper off to install fogs on a tC.

BTW...look into the APT/VRD's they look 1000x better.

The bumper is just a few plastic tabs and some bolts..very easy to take off but you don't have to take it off for the install. I was able to get to the stock wiring harness even with my CAI in the way..just take off the plastic cover on the driver side wheel well and you should see it taped somewhere up there with some black electrical tape. The DIY for the OEM fogs has pics of exactly where it's located if you can't find it.

You can take the bumper off if you really want to but I don't see why it's necessary

You might want to actually see them on the car. Those JDM fogs look like vomit.

No it is not hard to take the bumper off. You'll need a 10mm, 12mm ratchets and a phillips head screw driver. A pic tool would be great too for clips.

They're JDM.

The APT/VRD have a glass housing, look at BlackMetal's thread, he had some but some how either one got cracked or the housing because loose and started taking on on water.

His replacements are JDM, they're plastic with those lines, they are larger yet light does not output to the section of the lamps where you see those black lines.

It is all a matter of personal preference I prefer the look of VRD/APT fogs that sit back flush than the JDM.

Regardless of which you get they will not be hard to install.

For the VRD's you are correct that you don't have to take the bumper off as they just "Snap" in (and provided you have small hands, I don't)... The ones that I replaced the VRD's with on my car - the "JDM" style ones - you do... The way that the mounting bracket works on them would make it very difficult to install on the car. The bumper is very easy to remove and there's threads here that show you how to do it.

OP, if you have any questions on how to install the fog lights or remove the bumper just PM me and I'll help you out.

ecko is right that the VRD are higher quality in the sense that they have a glass lens and aluminum housing, the ones I have - the redesigned "JDM" ones - are entirely plastic... At this point it's which ever appeal to you more, I dished out the cash for VRD/APT's and they crapped out in a year (Just because it cost more doesn't make it better). We've had terrible rain here in Chicago the last few days and there isn't even any condensation build up in my new fog lights.
