I'm gauging interest on styles, color, and material for custom grilles for the tC.
I have a friend who is a cad pro who will take the stock grill specs create a 3d grille. I am going to take the blue prints to a couple of machinists we deal with to price cutting and coating. I just wanted a few ideas or suggestions of things peeps might want that aren't out there right now.

Most people probably will not care how it looks. (Ok, maybe they will.) All they want is an OEM replacement that doesn't require drilling and zip tying.

i would rather see just an upper grill with no emblem. dakine made on by hand. If we could get someone to retool one to be perfect. you could use that to go by.

 

The pattern on the stock grille is nice; just debadge it, ditch the chrome and make it all black, make matching side vents, and make it a direct replacement. No pressure.

No offense, but I like RS1's grille better than that of the RS2's. Then again, that's just my 2 cents...

 

Okay, this is taking a little longer than I thought. It's a spare time deal. The way we may be headed is a stock-like frame and varied inserts. So buy one frame and you may buy different inserts for that frame.

 

Honestly, im just throwing this out there, but if you are making like a one frame fits all type of deal that would be sweet. That way you guys could create different inserts and if they are metal then that would help out all the other peeps that may want different color grilles. I'm sure not everyone is going to want a black or chrome/aluminum looking grille on their show car. So yeah, just make it to where they can be powder coated and feasible and people will love you guys for it! Just my .02
