Default HID Bulb Compatability

Over the past couple of weeks I have seen TCs in the area with aftermarket HID kits in them. The glare coming from stock housings didn't seem to be bad at all and it was much better than mine. I was thinking maybe they have a different bulb. Are there any other bulb sizes that are compatible with 9006 bulbs that maybe have the filament closer to that of a 9006 halogen bulb?

doesn't that just take away the whole point of getting the HID? I mean don't u get them to be able to see farther?

Mine are aimed as high as I can get them without blinding other drivers. It took a lot of patience and trial and error.
