Default HID conversion or just luminics bulbs?

I want that nice clean look for my front lights and I jsut wanted to know if I can get it with just buying Luminics pure blue 6000K bulbs with the wire harness. The site is http://www.racinglab.com/luminics-blue-9006.html
HID conversions I beleive are in the 200's or 300 price range and I would rahter spend 50$ on just bulbs if they will give me the same look and visibility.
What do you guys think?

people with the luminics bulbs have had trouble with burning their harnesses, what you should do is go over to the scionlife exclusive sponsored sales thread and order from say, mobileHID or operatic for 130 or 140 shipped and do it the right way that won't ruin your factory equipment.

or you can get DOT approved bulbs which are legal and safer, since you won't be blinding anybody.

HIDS is the way to go if you want better vision, other halogen bulbs if you are just looking for looks. =)

HID's are the way to go. I bought a set of luminics because I was being cheap. They burnt out after 2 months. I paid about 35 for the set. I now have HID's and could not be happier with the quality ($100). I hear operatic is the guy you want to contact for these. I bought mine from someone else. Oh, and make sure you get the relay with your kit. Because if you get one of the "plug and play ones", you might end up melting your stock harness. (Very expensive to fix). Hope this helps.

yea Luminics sells the wire harness for 15$ extra. But yea I don't want to be cuying new bulbs every 2 months if they are just going to burn out. I looked on MobileHID.com and the HID kit is 250$ shipped which is more than I want to spend. Is this the average price for most HID conversion kits? I thought someone said they are about $100??

actually it's not just for looks there's an actual difference, and HID's are illegal if it's not in the right housing to project them out, HID's are mainly for looks because what the point of putting them in that housing if it's going to scatter?

I just put Luminics "Pure Blue" H11 bulbs into my 2008 Projectors and they look effing hot. I have had a few people ask me what HID kit I have. I will see if I can't post some pics.

I should also mention that even with a relay, HIDs can corrode and/or burn your plugs. Luckily I caught mine before it got bad. I'll get some pics.

Luminics melted my harnesses, i wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.

Luminics FTL, if you wanna save the cash, go with Sylvania SilverStars FTW. Even better do the 9006-9005 conversion on the low beams and get the 9005 for both highs and lows FTMFW.

Otherwise, save up for the HID's and the retros with the S2K projectors.

damn I didn't think there was much to HIDs, people are having their harnesses melted, i dont need that lol. So you guys dont reccomend Lumincs pure bleu bulbs even with the wire harness? If its melts with the wire harness i take it that it wont destroy any factory parts? I hope lol.

dont be a ricer and stick HID's in the stock reflector housing ... you will ____ off everyone on the road.

I have Luminics for now ... untill I can find time to retro my headlights.

mobileHID FTW

i would prolly recommend getting 08HL with HID instead of retrofitting bc its much cheaper for the HL but of course s2k projectors are better
lightwerkz.net

halegon bulbs are always goin to break, but if want to go cheap and just looks i say go with nokya bulbs in the reflector housing

hid kits range 100-300 depending on where you get them also quality goes with the price

I dont think Scion designed the 08 projectors for HID's. They are halogen projectors ... not HID projectors like that of Lexus, Acura, BMW, Benz, etc.

So ... Retro FTW.
