Default HID HELP.

sooo i got my replacement hid kit from 3bspec. and i was wondering should i use the relay harness to plug it or use the PLUG N PLAY? they sent me both with my replacement this time.. they told me to use the plug n play because my previous one had relay harness fuse damage due to water because i had the relay on infront of the car like where mostly everyone puts it...

where do u guys suggest i do? anyone use the plug n play kit from 3bspec? or where do u place the relay harness so it doesnt get touched by water?

Unless it is a slim digital ballast that has a "soft start", use the relay harness. The standard "metal can" ballasts can use more watts on start up than a halogen bulb and the tiny 22 gauge stock wiring will eventually melt. Make sure to mount the relay in a "high and dry" spot in the engine compartment.

that kept happening to me. i had no idea what it was. my HIDs just wouldnt turn on. then i changed one of the fuses and they worked. then it happened again. i changed the fuse. and wrapped the fuses and relay with that black electrical tape and put it right in the middle of the battery and intake. havent had problems for a couple months now. you cant really see it unless i tell you its there lol

Put the relay next to the battery in the engine compartment and you should be all good. Don't put the relay in front of the radiator and it won't catch any water... especially out there in Vegas...
