Default HID pre-made projector headlights,, what do you all think?

I'm loooking at getting some hid with projectors to make it all legal. I don't have the know how to modify my current ones so i've been searching on ebay,

It seems alot of sellers are generally buying from the same manufacture since it appears most HID Projector headlight units come with the same design and set up.

I've been mainly looking at these since i like how the top part of the headlight looks and it's simple design yet i can't see where the turn signal bulb goes.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-0...ht_5405wt_1513

HID wise, i'm gonna try there kit and if i don't like it, I'll probably buy a Mobile HID kit.

So any thoughts, suggestions, FYI's?

Well those are pretty ugly and more than likely the cutoff will be horrible. Also just because they come with HIDs doesn't mean they are legal.

if you really have to get projectors, just get 08+ headlights. i doubt you will have any worries with the cops about having HIDs... i know i haven't..

only way to get a HID projector headlight is doing a retrofit. we dont own a Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, ect. so they dont come stock. if you want the cheaper route, go with a set of 2008-09 stock headlights and put HIDs in them (prefer 5k MAX) or like me, do a HID retro, click here for pics...

Just so you know there is no way of making HID legal in our cars. All after market HID kits are for off road use only.

Second, ebay projectors normally have a bad cut off and or cheep lenses which can cause poor lighting.

Your best bet, doing a retro fit, which it takes time. There are plenty of web sites out there that will tell you how to do this.

You can pay some one like Light Werkz http://www.lightwerkz.net/index.htm
but that is expensive.

Or the easiest (but by no means on the same level as retro fit) is buy 08-09 tC head lights. I have the stock projectors in my tC with HIDs and they are not bad. I would suggest then to any tC owner. I am going lowering the headlights slightly lower than stock to keep other drivers from getting blinded. I only had one idiot that thought I had my high beams on on a tine back road with lots of hills and such.

If you do the 08-09 headlights there have been a few threads on this.Scion uses a H11 bulb for the 08-09 headlights. The older headlights used (I think) 9006 bulb. If you tell the person that you are buying the HIDs from what you are doing they should be able to help you out.

agree with everyone else, horrible cutoff, condesation, burnt LEDs etc. if u wanna go HIDs with the headlights u have now go 6k or under. but if u wanna go projector and HIDs then go wit 08/09 oem headlights or retrofit and throw 4300k HIDs in there to make them look "Oem"

^^ ditto. If u want the projector look. get 08s. if u want the halogen look. get the 05-07s. Just throw HIDs in there. I've had my 6Ks for a year and a half and have yet to have a cop say anything about them.

amber is orange, not yellow and why go through that work, just replace the bulbs with white bulbs?

Hids arent illegal without projectors. If they where then prius, is300 and other cars would be in trouble. Just the color makes then illegal, anything over 6000k is begging for a ticket. With hids in stock headlights, light just blinds other drivers, but who cares

If you decide to buy that headlight and HID kit I suggest just walking up to a very large guy and handing him your money and asking him to beat you.......cause when he is doen that is the same way you will feel when you get done with all the hassles thsoe headlights will give you.

They will have horrid cutoff, failure of LEDs,failure of the Halos, moisture inside, poor fitment,oh it goes on and on......

two routes to go,find 08 or 09 headlights and get Mobile HID kit or get Izentrbl.com setup, almost same price as paying for HID and stock lights if you cannot find 08 lights used and pay retail for them.

The izentrble lights are the best cause they are actually HID lenses.

If you do not know how to do a retro I do not suggest learning on such a spendy item.
