Default which hid temp color should i get?

i'm about to order an hid kit and i don't plan on doing a retrofit any time soon. so which of the two am i less likely to blind people/get pulled over for? and which last longer? i prefer the 8000k because it's more blue. thanks.

well if you plan on doing a retro any time now, i would say neither and go OEM with Philips D2S bulbs at 4300k.

Everyone needs somebody else's opinion that's why this kind of thread appears. It's all about helping the OP decide.

I would go for 6000K just because it gives more light output compared to 8000K.

id say go with the 6000k, simply because of the more light output.

I just went with 8000k lights and they are amazing, totally different than most HID's but not flashy. Also night and day compaired to my silverstars. Love the color!

there is a ton of topic on this....

anyways - i got 8000k and i love them - blue but still bright as a **** - 6000k has a bit more output, but any HID is going to blow the halogens out of the water! i had to drive my moms van the other day that has halogens in it and it was like blind on the road! might as well been drivin with no lights - i am so used to drivin my tc...it was nuts!

350 miles cross state each way in the dark - in a van - by myself...it was torture!

with no hids!

your in virginia right? from what i've been reading, your just giving the cops another reason to pull you over and hassle you, just my opinion, don't really know a thing about hid lights.

Yup. The lower temp the brighter it is, which causes more glare. The higher temp, the dimmer and bluer it gets, which flags for cops' attention. These are your choices bud, LOL

8000K and no cop problems. Now if you had 12000k's, you might have cop trouble.

6000k, blue-ish, more light output than 8k, can pass for stock
