Default HIDS in VRDS yes or no?

so ive been doing some research and have come up with many different responses from people...
I really need some clarification.

Is it bad to put HIDS in VRD foglights?

Does anyone have a picture of the cutoff?

Since 3000K has a better visibility than the higher Kelvins then why do people put 6000K in their fogs?

I would imagine that people put 6000K in fogs is for the look, or so it matches the headlights. I've heard the cut off is really bad and it shines in the eyes of oncoming traffic. Not really worth the hassle IMO. Use the yellow bulbs that come with the fogs, and you will see just fine. Yellow light cuts through fog better than any other color anyway.

Yeah, people want that blue effect that comes with the 6000k setup, but personally I like the yellow in my fogs. It gives that rally look, and god knows I love me some rally racing! So, long story short, keep the yellow bulbs.

6000K is 100% cosmetic. I've heard from a lot of people that HIDs in VRDs have horrible glare. However, seeing HIDs in the low beams and halogen bulbs in the fogs, you really don't notice much of a difference with the fogs on because the HIDs put out so much more light. I'll have my VRDs this weekend (hopefully), so I'll throw some on/off pics up vs my 5000K HIDs.

the thing is, I want to put HIDS in my fogs to increase visibility but dont wanna mess with peoples vision. I figured that since the VRDS located lower , it wouldnt affect other peoples sights.

are regular bulbs (i.e. 3000k nokya bulbs w/o ballasts) already bright and increase visibility?

also, would HIDS in the fogs greatly increase visibility?

Hey I have the same setup as you (5000K on the lows) and wanting VRDs....but yea man get those pics up....preferably on the light spread of the vrds on the ground w/ the headlights on and off.

The purpose of fog lights (if you really are trying to increase visibility) is to get beneath the fog and not increase the brightness. I would assume that putting HIDs in your fogs would be the same principle as driving with you brights on in the fog. So, you'd be better off just sticking with the factory bulbs. Just my opinion on the dynamics of fog lights...

i was thinking that, but ive heard some people say that the regular halogen bulbs arent bright enough and basically renders the fogs useless too.

I would say no to HIDs. It's already quite blinding to have HID headlights I say stock or yellow lights in your fogs to offset the headlights.

It will probably be much safer too when you are driving in rough weather.

actually when i have my yellow hid fogs on it illuminates the signs on the highways (white lettering is bright!!) .....so the angle shoots pretty high i think....i say yes, due to better sign lighting!! haha

You kinda lose the point of having fogs lights if they actually have light reaching high enough to light up street signs.

Fogs should be pointing straight without any significant glare. It should light up the road ways not signs.

I got my fogs for appearance only. I have 5k HID in my '08 projectors and the light from the fogs dissapear in the brightness of the HID. To me seeing my car driven by my Wife it looks sick coming at me up the road. So purely cosmetic.
