I was wondering if I were to run higher wattage 9005s or 9006s would there be an issue with the stock harness? By higher wattage I mean 85watts or so. Or would I need to rewire everything from the bulb to the fuse box with a lower gauge cable?

 

85watts is a bit high. To use such a wattage, you would want to do some rewiring. personally, I just put in 9005 silverstar ultras in my lows (65w) and 9005 silverstars in my highs (60w) and its like daylight with my lights on. I bought the kyo 9005/9006 harnesses to go with it though...

 

WTF are you putting in there? 85w is too much!

 

85w does seem like overkill...

 

Hella makes off-road bulbs, aka non-DOT approved. I did the 9005 conversion but one of my bulbs burned out. And 85w halogens are still cheaper than putting HIDs in.

 

dont be cheap when it comes to ur car! u dont want to ruin ur electrical system for the so called 85w bulbs. im still voting no for this.
