Default How difficult is it to install exterior accent lighting?

I am thinking about adding some led tube lights in my wheel wells and also on the inside under the dash and seats. Is this something that I should pay to have done? Is the cost of having it done professionally worth it? I have a little electrical background (installed a panasonic car stereo). Obviously I want to hook it up to the battery and have a switch to activate it. I do have enough confidence to do it myself, but I haven't done the procedure before and just want to make sure this is something I want to jump into before I drill any holes.

Also do you have any recommendations on how to get the lighting I need? I would prefer tubes that do multiple colors. I saw some at Autozone, and also some on Ebay, and there is a pretty big price difference.

Any pictures would also be helpful. Thanks!

Default Lighting Difficulty

Have you had experience with them? Do they provide adequate instructions and all the equipment needed?

Let me know any experiences you guys have had in doing this yourself.

I've only ordered from Oznium.com once before, but I can attest to their cheap prices and fast shipping.

oznium won't send you instructions. you can find instructions though on their website or even here on SL.

not to kill oznium's sales, but i also like http://www.besthongkong.com/ - they're prices are cheaper than oznium's on some things (especially flexible LED strips). and I can attest to the fact that they are the same thing oznium sells.

i would only do those in your wheel wells though. interior lighting, i would recommend cathodes from oznium, but be careful with them. if you or your passenger kicks them accidentally, they'll break! they break very easily!

here's a couple pictures of mine. i have interior cathodes (white) and cathodes in my engine bay as well (white)

Default Interior Lighting

So why are cathode tubes better for under the dash? Like you said, they would have a tendency to easily break. Why would flexible LED strips be inappropriate for that spot? Is it not as good quality wise? Hard?

Any and all help is much appreciated!

So if I want a quieter ride. Do you guys recommend getting sound deadening material if I don't have a system? I like my drives to be quiet (=.
