Here is my situation... With all the added dynamat on my hatch, the stock struts are having a hard time keeping it open in cold weather, so im going to swap the struts with stiffer struts. Then, i got to thinking, is there anything limiting how far the hatch can actually open? it doesnt look like it... if i find th right strut, could i make it so my hatch goes vertical? Why, why not? and any ideas on how to close it after would be great lol.

 

i need stiffer struts too but not yet.. i dont think the hatch could go vertical because i think it has a stop on the hinge like how you cant open you doors 180 degrees
