Default How to remove dealer logo/lettering?

I just got an '07 BSP tC and I have the dealer lettering logo that I'm sure many, if not all, have had. Does anyone know how to remove it without residue or messing up the paint??

unless u have a heat gun, there's no faster way to do it... just peel off as much as you can by hand, then use some sort of 'bug & tar' remover to get off any residue... it wont affect your paint at all

Heat it up a little and pull. If it fresh it shouldn't leave any glue behind. A soft cloth and some quick detailer should get rid of any residue. Goo gone if there's a bunch but use sparingly.

Can I find that at any Advance Auto or Pep Boys? How about rubbing alcohol? I don't know if it affects the paint or not.

oh my goodness... are people not reading responses left before their own?! i said exactly that... use ur hand, then bug and tar remover.... do NOT use rubbing alcohol on ur paint. Its not hard, at ALL... seriously, if this is that much of a major concern of yours, maybe you should avoid doing any mods yourself, no offense.

Heat gun is also dangerous. Only use it at a low setting and move it around quickly. Instead use a hair dryer.

Here's how I do it.

For stickers
1) Spray the hairdryer back and forth over the stickers.
2) Peel it off with your fingers.
3) Use a rubbing compound or a goo gone to remove the glue.

For emblems
1) Spray the hairdryer back and forth over the emblem.
2) Use fishline or dental floss and starting from one side pull it up and down and move your way to the other side. Make sure you don't rub it against the paint so pull it slightly angled away from the paint, rather then straight up and down.
3) Peel it off with your fingers.
4) Use a rubbing compound or a goo gone to remove the glue.

Hey take it easy now, no problems with being thorough right? For those of you with a little more patience, thanks for your help.

Or, as a preventative measure, threaten the wrath of God himself on the salesman if there's any of that crap on your vehicle at the time of pickup.

When I bought my TC and the dealer brought it around the front when i came to pick it up, he noticed they "forgot" to put the dealer emblems and such. He told me to wait 10 mins and they will put it on, i told him I didnt want them, and I drove away with no dealer markings at all, i was happy.

I just simply used a hairdryer for atleast 40 seconds and started peeling it off at the corner. Then kept on repeating the same thing. Then after, if there are residue... I used WATER! and started rubbing it off effortlessly.

I just now took off my Tc emblem off the back. heres a very simple way. If it's hot outside like it is in Va today, park the back end towards the sun. wait for it to heat up and just start in one corner slowly peeling it off. i thought id be fine and there would be nothing left....big mistake lol so make sure you get some bug and tar remover. Oh btw....this may not work if you have like a white car? mynes black so it gets very very hot. forgot to mention that. this is off topic but last year i had my fire helmet in my trunk with a flashlight on it, well it got so hot the flashlight melted. hard to believe huh?

How about go back to the dealership and yell at them something about not signing on to advertise them for free and demanding that they remove the dealer emblem or you're going to talk to Scion corporate about a dealership cramping your style?

It's utter crap that a dealership would force you to drive around advertising them without paying you.

bathroom cleaner? I wouldn't use that on my paint...

What do you use to wipe the glue off once the bug and tar remover dissolves it? I don't want to scratch my paint!
