Default I hate the my front licence plate.

Sooooo much I took it off.
Just waiting to get busted.

But seriously, is there anything one can do to make the front lience plate look like anything but a total afterthought by Toyota.

It has to be the ugliest thing on an otherwise beautiful car and to make it worse it's up front wher you see it first thing.

Even my Chevy Silverado has a carrier it mounts into that makes it look atleast tolerable. If GM can think of it why not Toyota?

get some smoked license plate covers. they sell them at Pepboys for like 15 bux I believe. inexpensive, and doesnt make the plates stand out as much as they would when unconvered.

your call though

I love Tennessee. Best automotive and gun control laws in the country. No front license plates.

One of these days, I am going to remove my plate and fill the holes so it looks like new again. It isn't that I don't like having a front plate....it is the fact that there are a couple of nasty screws holding it on through a pair of ugly drilled holes that really makes me angry. I want my bumper back to how it was before the dealership stabbed it with a drill. I will still probably run a front plate, but on a holder in front of the grill or something. I am paranoid of cops.

The worst part about filling the holes is you will have to pay a bodyshop somewhere in the range of 300-500 bucks to have it all done. At least thats what a few dealerships quoted me. i just wanted to get the price from several places, being as i work in a bodyshop i can do it all myself..just like i shaved my hatch handle logo/antenna/LP holes and soon to be door handles

Free paint and supplies is VERY handy.....

For sure it's illegal not to have the plates on here in CA. The plates have to be "affixed" to the bumper. I got a fix it ticket a couple years ago in SF one night. They dont go into detail as to where you should put the plate, just as long as its affixed. So you could technically get away with it behind the grill like honey0bucket has.

I agree that makes it look better, but unfortunately it's illegal to cover the front plate in CA.

Alot of people do it because it does look better..the car does look cleaner from the front when it drives by. AND alot of us (like myself) do it for the "show" factor....

screw the front licence plate. I've been driving without one ever since I got into cars. So for about 4-5 years now I've only gotten pulled over for it once in the bay area and it was in east side san jose by sheriff who was just looking for an excuse to pull me over and harass me(dam black skin.) the interesting thing is ever since I got tinted windows(coupled with the front licence plate and clear blinkers makes 3 fix it tickets.), like illegally dark I haven't gotten pulled over(maybe cause they can't see that I'm black anymore. haha.
