Default Install upper grill problem. Please HELP

I am eager to put on my NEW grill, but the problem is I cannot take off the middle screaw and the top left and bottom left screw. There is a metal piece blocking me from putting my screw driver down there. How in world can I take it off now besides taking off the bumper? Any tools you guys recommend or techniques? Thanks

Force it!

Otherwise, take off the bumper. It may sound difficult at first, but after that, it's as easy as 1,2,3....

Ya, I'd just take off the bumper. It's really not difficult. There are 9 bolts/screws (all 10mm) and 5 little pop tab things (remove with flat head screwdriver). Very easy though.

you pretty much have to take off the bumper...it is virtually impossible to put on an aftermarket grill while leaving the bumper on

I thought the VRD grille don't need the bumper to be removed. and don't have to remove the screws right?

They don't, but your OEM ones do require you to remove screws. Sorry if that sounds sarcastic, it's not meant to be.

It's very difficult as stated above, to remove the bottom grille without removing the bumper. The top grille is easy, but I had to find a very short screwdriver to remove those hard to reach screws.

^^ What she said. Top grille requires patience and skill to remove without taking off the bumper. Taking off the bumper is a prerequisite to removing the bottom grille.

I just removed my bottom grill without taking off the bumper, actually it was easier than the top.
Take a small flat head screwdriver and push in on each of the sections that has a filled in grid on the bottom grill. Those are the locations for the tabs and it will pop off easily.
