Default Installing 09 OEM Projectors on an 06 tC

Has anyone installed the 2008 or 2009 OEM projectors on their 04-07 tCs? If you have, how was the fitment? I am looking to go HID's, and this is how I was told to do it rather than getting one of the POS ebay kits.

So basically I want to go from theses:

To these:

OHH for anyone that is going to flame me for not searching here is my disclaimer. The search feature does not work with my computer, no matter what I type in I will get the exact same 10 results and that is it. So searching has become useless since I do not get what I am looking for. If you have a problem with that you can go F*ck yourself and get the hell of my thread.

Thanks,

Kirby

Okay, well all I have now is what is in the first picture. The basic OEM headlights that came with the 06's.

I don't currently have HID's, just the stock bulbs. I am looking to get HID's.

So that is what I am trying to figure out. I like the look of the 08-09 headlights and want to make sure they will fit before I order them.

Okay, let me try to make this more clear. I am not worried about bulbs or harnesses or any of that carp.

All I am worried about is the housing. Can I take an 08 headlight housing and put it into my 06 with out any fitment problems.

Yeah I have been around enough to realized what type of threads draw arrogant a-holes that have nothing better to do than _____ at other people for not knowing everything

Ya.. um, actually you can watch your damn mouth and feel lucky that I don't give you a warning for that crap.

As for your searching problems... perhaps you should look at why it's giving you the same results? Its an obvious one, but deleting cookies/cache should be first thing done. Are you behind any sort of proxy?

These are things that might be able to help you actually use the search... and not have to be a dick about it.

I will admit that was a little bit over the top but I wouldn't have to be a dick about it if other people would learn to have some respect on these threads and keep their damn mouths shut when they have no reason to be talking.

But as far as the cookies go I will have to give that a shot. I am not behind any proxy, I started having the problems after I switched over to a Mac. But again, I will try deleting the cookies, its something I haven't done for awhile.

But as for the warning, I can think of a handful of other people on here that would deserve them for the crud that they post on threads. This is just my way of keeping the posts on topic and letting them know I wont tolerate their bullpoop.

But again, I will clear the cookies and send you a PM if for some reason that doesn't work.

My point is that part is really not necessary. Most people will understand if you at least explain your searching problems... without adding the last part.

I definitely understand your frustration as I know many people love to jump in and tell you to search (and honestly I've been trying to single people out for that and tell them to be helpful or don't bother).

Regardless, like I said, that last part just isn't necessary. Let me know how it works after deleting cookies/etc. Also, Safari or Firefox on the Mac? I'm on FF on a Macbook right now and my search works OK.

OK I have an 07 tC and i'm also interested in upgrading my headlights to the 08-09 OEM's .. so just to make it clear I would have to buy the 9006 HID kit with H11 bulbs right? and would there be anything else I would need to purchase so I can make this work? I know it's a newbie question sorry..

Kirby, I've been surfing this web site for some time and recently joined today. I can understand your frustration. There seems to be numerous people on this site who "always" have something to say about everything and anything, however, they are NEVER called out. It's a shame the moderator of this site does not feel the necessity to be fair in calling people out. I have seen posts where people were out and out slammed (more than I care to list). I, personally, never wanted to post because I knew what would happen. We are obviously not in their "click". I'm sure I will get slammed for this one post. What a shame! Good site, poor moderation and a venue for those that feel this is a format to slam others who don't agree with a question, a modification, or anything else.

Oh yeah, by the way, to answer your question and be a little bit of help, the headlights will fit fine. All you need is a harness that will convert your bulb from a 9006 to an H11. The link is on TRD sparks. Hope that was helpful!

easier way to search is to just go to google and type in whatever question you have and put scion tc forums at the end of it.
Thats what i do

I can't speak to the fitment since my car came with them, but seeing as it is an OEM part and the tC hasn't changed really, they should fit fine.

You need to order a H11 HID Kit. I ordered an H11 HID kit from Mobile HID and it worked great. Plug and play. Once you go HID it will be hard to go back.

Yeah, my box has the projectors in it and I love them. And since I messed my other headlights up trying to nightshade them I figured this would be the better option. So I would still need to get the harness even if I am getting HID's?

Since I can't do vehicle electrical stuff I am having a shop do the install and they said everything should come with the HID kit to do the conversion.
