Default ?Installing Figure Grille?

Ok guys I just got my figure grille in the mail today and while looking through the instuctions it seems confusing because it says I have to drill holes. Do I have to drill holes through the actual bumper or just the plastic plate that holds the grilles in? Installing the top looks pretty easy but I am not sure about installing the bottom grille, I do not have the OEM fog lights, please give me some advice or pics of an install. Im so eager to put it on but I dont want to mess it up lol... thanks

Yes must Drill holes into BUmper..

i drilled 10 holes on Top..I drilled into the tabs that hold the OEM grill in...not into the actual Bumper part!...

like 8 holes on Bottom...

U do Not have to take ur BUmper off either...

You're going to have to drill holes through the actual bumper. The whole deal is way easier if you remove the entire front end...drilling with my hand stuck near the radiator seemed kinda scarey.

*Edit: I didn't drill through the tabs because I felt it would have set the grill too far back, that's why I drilled through the bumper portions. Both ways work though.

TeeCizzle - kudos that you drilled with it on then. I couldn't fit my drill in there, that's why I took it off. Plus, I have the OEM fogs, so it may have been a little different.

The manual that Figure ships with the grills actually show the locations where you should drill. I think I added 2 more holes than the manual, just because I wanted to make sure the grill stayed in place, in case it hit a rock or something.

Use the 1/8" bit, and it's just the right size to squeeze the zip tie through.

I think I have 10 holes TOTAL! (4 on top, 4 on the bottom, and 2 on the sides.)

If you can, just drill on the tabs. If for whatever reason you need to put the OEM grille back in, the drilled holes are covered by the OEM grille.

I have way more than the required number of holes. That thing is under so much tension from all sides, there is no way it will move.

For the record, you don't need a drill. I didn't have a suitable sized drill bit so I took a sharp-pointed screw with my hand and twisted it into the bumper while pressing with some force. Once it takes, just twist it through with a screwdriver. My fingers got totally destroyed, but I drilled about 20 holes with nothing more than a metal screw.

Hell yeah. I had to take a break halfway through because my fingers were red and almost skinless.

The funny thing is, I even did that with the bumper still attached to the car, which I don't recommend. That was a long time ago and it was my first DIY, so I was scared to take the bumper off. That made it way more difficult. But now that I have been taking the bumper off frequently, I wish I had done that at the time.
