You mean a core charge?

I said maybe... I would like to see the outcome, know what the exact price is going to be, know if the headlights can be customizable to our liking (i.e. angel eyes, led turn signal in brow, clear corner, painted housing to match car color, etc.), and know if we already had hid's if we would have to purchase yours... I am very interested as well!

an extra charge on top of the price of the headlights for your headlights.

Lets say you wanted them and the charge was 900 +200 if they didn't have your headlights already. So 1100 would be the total until they recieved your headlights then you would be refunded that $200 core charge. make sense? I am sure everyone is thinking 200 or so off the 900 if they were to send them in.

I'm still undecided really. I just put Operatics HIDs in my 07 headlights and they look awesome as is. If the price is in a good range and the cut off is clean and overall quality is nice and work is superb then yeah I would probably be down for them since I only like the 08s for the projectors and thats it. I say he lets the folks that already have his kit get a 100bux off since he charges 60 for new bulbs and the total kits are 160, so it would make since to just knock off a 100 from that price...and depending on some things, if he wanted he could also do a 200bux exchange too. You pay 900 for the setup, you send in your lights, he determines if they are worthy of resale or parts and gives you between 0-200 bux back for them. If its lower than what you would like back then he ships them back to you. So we could easily knock 300ish off for some of the peeps right there.

well a retrofit would use projecters from assemblies that have a DS@ bulb type and would not operate with H11 bulb types, which is why you have to get a new HID kit

OR even better. He gets 5 sets of stock lights, charges you what they cost, ships them to you, you put them in, ship him your lights, he mods them into projectors and w/e customizations you want, sends you pics of what they look like all around, and with them plugged in so you can see how they look. If you agree to them, then he charges you what the mods cost, and once you receive them, put them in and make sure all works ok and looks good, then you ship him back the "rented" and when he receives them, he refunds your money as long as they are in same condition as to when he sent them to you.

So we are looking at about what 400 for stock lights, he does the work, you make sure it looks nice in pics, he charges you for the mods and work+plus a small fee for using his lights, you make sure they work in your car, ship them back, he receives them and inspects them, refunds your 400 bucks back. *Numbers may/will vary*

Do you have his kit? His kits are made with a harness. The ballast are the same as long as his D2S bulbs work with his universal ballasts in the kit. The harness he has allows it to connect to the 9006 stock connector then converts it to the universal connection for his ballasts. From his ballast is a universal connector for his bulbs he sells. Also has battery hookups so that you don't burn up the stock harness running them. So us 07and below people can buy the 08 head lights, install them, get H11 bulbs from him and use the same kit, its all plug and play. The only thing would be if he doesn't have universal working D2S bulbs. However I don't see that as a problem since he lists these bulbs on his selling thread and they all work universally with his ballast so those of us with his kit already, wont have a problem and it will be a simple bulb swap, 60bux, so we could get a discount possibly.

Available Bulb Sizes: H1, H3, H4-Low, H4 Bi-xenon, H7, H8, H9, H11, H13, 9003, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, D2S / D2R

ok gotcha. but him buying stock headlights, sending them as is in return for our stock headlights doesnt make sense, waste of money for shipping. instead he buys OEM headlights, retrofits them, sends them out to you, and if you want to send him yours for credit you can once everything is done. this sounds like the most efficient way to me.

we get credit for our stock headlights that we wont use, and he gets to buy headlights for future retrofits at a lower price them from the dealer. + for everyone

but some of us may have headlights others don't want to end up getting. Like mine are slightly pitted from a sand storm. I'd rather have "rentals" while he mods mine so someone else doesn't get them, wont be fair to them at all.

the core exchange actually makes alot of sense imo. zero days without headlights is worth it. if you think about it its about 40 shipped each way (so 80). headlights usually run at least 200 a pair or so... 200-80 = 120 dollars saved. i think its worth it

alot of people do it too..
Feint (when they did it)
Led Heads
i think garage1217
and some places when they make custom engines.

if itd lower the cost by at least a fair price i say its worth it

edit: it also helps them a bunch so they dont have to continously scrammble for headlights, and those dont come cheap. so everyone wins

ahhhh i see. good point. i think they both are very good ways of setting up the transactions. i do think your situation is more of an individual situation and not to general, but of course there are those few that would go your way for their own reasons.but i guess we will have to see what the original poster decides to do.

Very interested. Especially if it can be had for a little less than 900.

I do want to do the core charge as it would allow me to continue doing the premade retrofits if need be. Also, if you already had one of our HID kits, the price would be lowered as you would only need our D2S bulbs instead of a whole kit. Currently in the process of getting a demo set of retrofits ready. I'll post up pics, if people like, I'll get more going and hopefully get this show on the road.

Voted yes. I'd love to see a demo set.

It's either this or the '08 projectors....

The demos are still being made up, but once they are complete, I will post up some detailed pictures.
