Well I just hit a raccoon or something and destroyed my front bumper. What should I do?

here are some pics after I fixed it with some super glue.
It sounds ghetto that I used super glue but it worked and doesn't look nearly as bad as it did.
I'm just gonna get a carbon fiber front lip to cover it up and you'll never know it happened.

what i mean is should i go through insurance? if i go through insurance it'll cost me my dectuctable right? will my rates go up? how much is a new front bumper if i just buy it instead?

 

dang that happend to me too, but it dident destroy it. just blew off the lower left grill i think. but i fixed it and put it back on. dang sorry to hear that.

 

it's going to cost you at least your deductible. Get some estimates from local shops and make a decision from there

I wouldn't claim it on insurance either. I would buy an aftermarket bumper and get it painted then put it on myself. I know that my deductible is $500 and replacing the bumper isn't going to cost much more than that.

it wasn't as bad as i though looking at it today in the light. it's only cracked down by the bottom on the right side, right below the bottom grille. i repaired it with some glue, and i think i'm just gonna cover it up with a carbon fiber lip from racingsolution.com. it's only cracked where a lip would cover so i'll just get a lip eventually. and by the way, the dealer said 224 for the bumper then another 200 to paint it.

 

That should be covered as a comprehensive claim not a collision claim so your rates will not increase.

We have several high quality flexible front bumpers if you are interested.

 

I've hit a coyote before but it was in my Parent's RAV4, possum ain't too bad.
