Hitting an animal, (like a deer), is actually considered an "act of god" as far as car insurance goes. Usually there are 2 deductibles... one for collision, and a cheaper one for windshields, etc. This is the cheaper one, and probably wont effect your rates. I would ask your agent...but the deductible is probably anywhere from $50-200

i'm pretty sure i didn't even get a chance to let off the gas pedal. he ran out in front of me so quickly. oh well poop happens, i'll just be getting the lip i had planned on getting a little earlier than expected. the way i fixed it you wouldn't be able to tell unless i pointed it out to you so i'm not to worried about it.

funny you say that, cuz in the last few weeks I've had quite a few chances to run pigeons over. But I'm not trying to mess up my baby so I just honk @ them effers!!

My sister once ran over a bird. Well, actually, what happened was that it swooped down low, and went under the car. It was dead by the time it came out the back...

No remnants on the car though

Sorry to hear that. Man u have more damage from a racoon than i did when i hit a deer last week. I personally wouldnt file it under insurance cause ur rates will go up n u will still have 2 pay a deducable. Im just paying to get mine fixed out of my pocket. My hood and grill repair is only like $800 though. You'll just have to wait and get an estimate.

buy a bumper lip. Or, go on ebay and look for use bumper. I wouldn't go through your insurance for two reason, you can a new lip for cheaper price or buy a use bumper for cheaper price. good luck.

i plan on getting the carbon fiber lip from racingsolution.com to cover it up. the only thing is that i plan on getting hotchkis springs and with the front lip along with the springs i'll have about 3 inches less clearance under my front bumper.

anybody have a lip with a hotchkis drop or anything close to the same drop as hotchkis? is it gonna be to low?

I almost ran into one, slammed on the brakes and swerved out of the way. The pigeon didn't even flinch.

I dodge animals, rocks, and small children not because I'm concerned for their welfare; I don't want scratches on my paint
