KAMINARI Hood Water Guard..
#42
Dont have it but I have heard it is the best fitting hood on the market. I dont think it has the holes for the washer nozzles so you would have to drill if you wanted them, but I wouldnt.

IMO it IS the best fitting hood for our car. There are no holes for the washer nozzles; DJ08tC is correct.
I had an AIT hood and hated it. It was a nightmare. Horrible fitment, and it NEEDED hood pins.
Kaminari fits exactly like stock (and I'm not just saying that, either) and doesn't need hood pins. The latch is so strong that I never pinned the hood. I bought the hood from lil_will and he never pinned it either. The hood has seen a lot of use and is rock solid. I don't have holes drilled for my nozzles, either. I think it takes away from the clean look of the hood.
And I'm going to chime in here and say the water guard idea won't make a difference. The hood is designed so well that water, snow, etc doesn't matter.

i have the kaminari hood also. fitment is good, but no perfect. it doesn't have holes for the washer nozzles, but if you look carefully, you can see dimples showing where to drill and put them in.
as far as water getting in...i couldn't care less. it isn't near the intake, and is works great for venting heat out of the engine bay.

Im debating on getting the carbon fiber hood or the regular cowl hood. I figured the regular kaminari hood would be easier to maintain but I am not sure how the fitment would be, compared to carbon fiber one. Anybody running the regular? And whats the fast any of you have gone with the carbon fiber hood, without pins?

i have gone up to 100 at the track with my kami cf hood. no issues. i keep mine on year round in Pa hot summers and cold winters.
when i got it installed i had the hood clear coated just incase. but now 2yrs later im getting some whitish spots, not sure if its fading or what. its only in sertain spots.

sounds good...think I might be leaning over to the regular Kaminari hood rather then the awesome carbon fiber finish. I know rock chips are inevitable so if anything happen to the hood, we could just repaint it. Does anyone have a picture of a white Kaminari hood?

Kaminari would not have designed the hood with the hole if it could possibly cause damage. There is no need for a plate to cover up the vent, if anything it helps your engine cool faster. Little water wont hurt anything. I've had mine for 2 years with zero issues.
