10mm are so dated man.. large, narrow angle'd pos's.. they are reverse lights, how is it gonna affect them (spike) at startup when they arent on during startup? for the amount of time you use your backups, regulation isnt necessary. unless you plan to do other things w/ them like mine.. then regulation is necessary, especily for ignition off cases...

one of these http://www.besthongkong.com/product_...3ea4f2ff7b2f0b

or like 4+ of these http://www.besthongkong.com/product_...3ea4f2ff7b2f0b

i have those^ in my 3rd brake and fogs.. daym bright and easier to work w/ and cheaper than a prolight, luxeon star, cree, moon.. ect... plus, they are actualy a true output.. your alleged 140,000 mcd is phoneyilicioius.. it woudl only be that bright maybe if its viewing angle was 3 degree's.. there is a site dedicated to testing led's and there alleged MCD rating..

but that is me and what i've found over the years.. no "drop in" has ever gave me any pleausre..

how are those LED foglight things you have? are they bright enough to light up the road like a regular fog light or are they just for other's to see you coming?

they are stricky for looks. they are bright, but you need crazy expensive led's and optics (reflectors) to be able to use any led as a usable driving light.. hense why there isnt any led fog/headlights that actualy throw out light.. yes i know they are in some vehicles, but none that i know of that are actual production vehicles

LEDs don't make much heat if any at all. and I don't think the temperature in there is hot enough to cause them to fail. I have seen people put LEDs in front of their HID projector shield and the hold up just fine. And even that location is hotter than anywhere else in the housing.

^was that on a tc housing? i did a little search and most of them mentions about the heat inside the housing causing the leds to burn out or start flickering. anybody else can confirm?

i got my info from the hidplanet.com forum. it was on a G35. however, flickering sounds iffy. maybt there was a short in the wires or a relay got water damaged because i had problems with this. the area behind the bumper tend to be really prone to getting wet unlike other cars...

it is soley do to the heat... its not hte heat the led's give off, its hte headlight bulb.. that heat overheats the led's.. causing it for fail.. my superbright led's flickerd like crazy before the went all together.. they dont get wet, its strickly due to heat!

hey magy.. i have to say, i like your leather seats. they are classic!

yea guys, i dont know how you would get around heat damage then. if you can put a heatsink on those things then maybe that's a solution, but I don't think you can really.

well, even heatsinks would be tricky.. the bulbs still get too hot.. the only solution i can think of would be some fiber optics or polished acrylic rods.. put the led's in the engine bay and let them fire up into the housing.. but it wouldnt be very bright.. .would be more like a dot... what i say is get the super cheap ones, and replace them ever 6mo or so when they go out...

u can try to run them at lower power, but use more of LEDs. so if they are rated for 2.3V, run them at 1.8 or 2.0V instead.
