My tails currently look like this...



IMO they look like crap due to the chrome portion sticking out unevenly.
Now I need to solve this somehow...I don't really want to black out the tails from the white portion down because I don't want another reason for cops to pull me over, and I like the deep red look of the tails.

I also don't want to extend the white piece down to cover the chrome piece because I want it to flow with the body line.

So that leaves me with this option that I did a photoshop of...





What's your guys opinions of it? I'm also planning on getting a fully lit tbl soon and I don't know if I should get dark smoke or red.....

Let me know what you guys think and if you have some ideas for me to solve this little problem.

 

I would of just left the tails alone and ordered a fully lit red TBL. Your car though.

I just ordered Anzos and in the future a red tbl will go on.

 

When i first glanced at the photoshopped one, it kinda resembled a BMW. Looks nice, good luck with that.

^^ but i just cant stand the chrome portion on tails....thats why I got the vinyl I thought it might cover all of the chrome part.

 

From a cops POV though, I bet he would go after a vinyl versus something like VHT. You eliminated the reverse light so that will get 'em real mad.

 

The light still shines through the vinyl pretty well though...and it's just a reverse light. I kinda figured a cop wouldn't care too much about that...maybe i'm wrong though.

 

If a cop is following you during the day or you get pulled over for something, he will tell you to rip it off.

 

take out the white vynil and red-out the chrome part and the tbl!

That's not a bad idea...what would I use to red it out?? Is there a spray you can buy like nightshades??

 

bats overlay maybe?

 

or, how about getting a red transparent strip and putting it where the black would be?

 

^^^yeah I was thinking about that...just gotta try and get a piece that matches the red of the tail
