Default LED Taillight Bulb Problem

Ok this is a problem that i have just run into. I have changed all my taillight bulbs to led bulbs in hopes that they would be brighter (tinted my taillights). they arent brighter. but the big issue is all the bulbs work except the running lights and the actual brake light.. I hooked up only 1 of the led bulbs so i would be able to see a difference and they just keep popping fuses like crazy. led bulbs should not pop fuses, they dont pull enough power. any ideas?

i do have some advice...

throw away those led "bulbs" and learn a valuable lesson about trying to fit things into housings not designed for certain things.

i could've told you that they weren't going to be brighter than before... and i didn't even have to test or have any experience from doing them myself to know what works and what doesn't.

improper installation and/or defective items could be causing the fuse poppage.

holy cow, tell us how you really feel.

ok for starters, nothing was put into anything it wasnt designed for. guess what, a 7443 led light bulb is DESIGNED to replace a normal 7443 light bulb. Its crazy how that works. These arent homemade led bulbs.

As far as resistors on the bulbs, i do not have resistors on the bulbs. they are direct factory replacements, and the only replacement bulbs ive heard of having to use resistors or flashers on are the turn signals, but those led ones work fine. when i plug them in and turn my headlights on , they work fine. as soon as i step on the brake the fuse pops. (now i know the bulbs are causing the fuse to pop). why is the question. led bulbs pull less power, and since it is a 7443 it is setup as a dual filament bulb. why would it blow fuses?

Im sorry but I will have to agree with SquallLHeart, most "bulbs" like that wont put out more light than iridescent bulbs, and also what he means that they arent designed that it isnt the sockets, because they do fit in the sockets, but that they usually arent ment to last in an environment that they are in the tail light housings or the head light housings.

People are typically better off with the silver coated bulbs for a more "clean" look.

Just my $0.02.

^^ thank you... at least someone understands what i meant.

fuses are popping because the "bulbs" you purchased are probably wired wrong.

as i mentioned before.... sorry you spent the money on crap.. but they belong in the trash.
