I have a 2005 Black tC and recently had my first incident.
Someone stole the Left Side View mirror housing, the piece that just snaps off, I'm really ____ed off about it, but I guess it happens. From what I've learned already I need to buy the whole mirror assembly at $150.00(cheapest I could find), I've also been checking junk yards and such for just the housing, but so far no good, so my question is does anyone know where I can find just the housing? I read in another members post that he got just the housing at 1stToyotaparts.com, but I can't even find Scion stuff on that sight and that was over a year ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i would assume thats the whole assembly, call them or call a local dealer to find out how much it is.

 

I had to buy the entire assembly for mine even though it was just the body-colored cover that broke when my poor tC was savagely attacked by a parked Honda Accord...

 

i just an accident not so long ago. and a dumb @ss pulled up right behind me and wanted for me too turn quicker on a right turn from train tracks. and after we turned.. i guess he was mad and almost slammed into my car. Luckily i was able to turn off to the side of the street. and broke off my side-view mirror. i got mad... he pulled over and left. i was concerned about my g/f. then i chased him down and got his license #. damn trucks.

tikbhoy, thanx for the link. i want a oem replacement side mirror and wasn't able to find one... just the cheap m3 style side mirrors on ebay. but i will call my local dealer... see how much i can get at a resell price

 

recently had my mirror ripped off in a hit and run, got a new mirror from sparks for about $150 shipped.

 

i ordered mine thru southbay toyota yesterday, so i get it tuesday... yeah. good thing i work for a retail company... i'm gettin it at a resell price.

I'm going through the same thing. I got into a car accident just two days ago. The car literally broke my left mirror off. There is a slight crack on the side light, but the plastic pieces were ripped apart.

 

is it the top cover cuz if it is you could always buy a cf cover i forgot who but some1 sells it.

anyone happen to have a right side view mirror. i just had an incident today! Still works and is attached just a little messed up. and whiel we're at it i needa left sde front fender LoL

 

Damn how bad was the accident? My best bet is Ebay, or if you want the dealer ship. But your going to pay 3times more than aftermarket.

 

Just got into an accident today :\ I was merging and some truck sped off, leaving my driver side rearview mirror to bits.

But I ordered a new one from Sparks today, and was just wondering how EASY it is to install? how do you take the old one off? or better yet, anyone have installation instructions?

 

remove plastic covery thingy inside... 3 nuts, one plug.

 

you just pull it? i was pulling on it with force, but didn't want to continue before i broke something else.. so just pull it out?

nevermind, experimented.. SUPER EASY.

wow, and the dealer was gonna charge we 180 to install..

 

Is the 2006 tC's side mirror the same as the 2006 xA side mirrors?

 

yes.. they're the same.. however it is not easily interchangable since the xA and tC has it mounted differently.
