HIDs on a car with non-factory installed HIDs is technically illegal. Also anything 6000k and above is illegal (correct me if im wrong).

Chances are though, cops wont heckle you unless you blind the hell out of them, they tend not to like that for some odd reason. Weird, I know...

But if you want HIDs, go for it. Althought I personally would spend extra money for a retrofit rather than a bulb kit. Looks better and works like it should. Hope this helps.

the litigation of these kits are not clearly defined. A lot of the members have them. The problem with these kits in a halogen reflectors is that it causes glare and potentially dangerous to apposing drivers. So, there are chances that you'll get pull over, or not, depending on how lazy these cops are. What color temp are you using? higher temp HID is more dim, so I think they'll cause less glare.

from what I heard that is correct.

I have 8000K on OEM housing and yes the glare is bad but I haven't been pulled over yet and the cops where I live love to pull over people to make their money.

I wonder if cops make commission from the tickets they wrote.

Hey buddy watch your mouth about "sissy cops", aint nothin sissy about what I do! Plus most police wont waist their time on somthing stupid like HID's unless they decide to give you a five day tag after pulling you over for somthing else like speeding maybe, police discrection.

Hey, Since you're a cops tell me this. A cop gave me a parking ticket in error and I proofed it to him right at the scene. So, he told me that I have to go to the court and clear it out. His reasoning was that it was already in the system and they can reverse it. Is that true? I kept thinking the guy is BS'ing me for some unknown reason.

If its in the system its in the system. You normally have to go to court to clear a ticket.
