Unless Tennessee emergency vehicles do not use blue , you may not use blue lights regardless of the ability to flash . You disagree and leave it at that . I think you have a problem j3st3r . Just because I disagreed with yopu does not make me a bad guy . You guys need to get over people that disagree and not namecall . Sheesh . I am telling you it is illegal . You say it is legal because a cop said so and because it does not say in the vehicle code . No problem . Lol . Enjoy your lights . Must be ok . I must be wrong .
By the way , I am a detective in Va and know what you can be given a summons for in Va and Tennessee based on law . However , I am not from Tennessee so I am ignorant to your laws . so , I cannot argue . never wanted to . get over it . We all should now know that blue parking lights and underbody kits are perfectly legal in Tennessee so , nothing else is needed to be said . Glad you guys cleared it up . Thank you
...seems like it said pretty clearly though what the colors were..
"No vehicle operated in this state shall be equipped with any flashing red or white light or any combination of red or white lights which displays to the front of such vehicle"

(A) A red or red/white visibar type with public address system;

(B) A red or red/white oscillating type light; and

(C) Blinking red or red/white lights, front and rear.

but you are right I am not here to argue either....we can just agree to disagree....that sound fair? I hate when the threads turn into the back an forth deals

Which code would that be exactly? If the motor vehicle code doesn't address this how can it be illegal? Do law enforcement officers just make up $hit as they go along or do they have to cite MVC's on the summon's they write?

And , as for underbody kits . They are most certainly legal . But , if they did not come on the car from the factory , they cannot be used while the motor vehicle is in operation . The codes do get specific about colors, but there again I'm failing to understand how you can say it's not right and even though the codes specifically mention flashing you say it doesn't matter.

I am telling you it is illegal . You say it is legal because a cop said so and because it does not say in the vehicle code . No problem . Lol . Enjoy your lights . Must be ok . I must be wrong .
Again..if it's not in the vehicle code how do you determine whats legal and whats not? Cops just make up $hit as they go along? I don't think so.
A duly appointed law enforcement official for the state of Tennessee says the lights are not illegal but you say he's wrong....hmmm, I don't get it.

I don't know what your a detective of, and you say you know what you can be given a summons for in Tenn based on law, which laws would those be? Tenn motor vehicle codes perhaps?
Well...which is it...you know the Tenn laws or don't?

Look I'm not here to argue with anyone, just state the facts as I have them.

tracylj , no need to ask me questions . You do as you see fit . Not here to argue .
Je3ster dude . Cool . Just did not want you to think I came here to argue . that was not my intent . I see the emergency vehicles there use red and white . That makes a difference as I eluded to . The underbody kits being on while driving needs not and does not fall under the lighting category in every state . You cannot operate a motor vehicle in a way that distracts other drivers .

Not true at all here...and alot of places...the law here states...they can be any color as long as they are not flashing...you can also have the under car lights too again as long as they are not flashing. The other law about the parking lights here is that you cant have one in one side be red and one in the other side be blue. I would check with a police officer...I know I did when we were at the track and he told me exactly what I posted above...and we even looked it up in the state codes.
Yeah, Kansas for example, says, as long as it isn't red, or flashing blue, but in other states, where police lightbars are all Blue, you cant have blue at all. It all comes down to the cop. Which can vary like night and day...

I'm pretty sure though that red is the no no everywhere.
