Has anyone had the clips that hold the trunk release button and Scion logo break? Last night I went to open the hatch and the whole piece came off in my hand. It had been getting a little loose, I think it was caused from the hatch seals getting sticky and requiring more than normal lifting force to open the hatch.

 

yea it happened to me to i just took my car into the dealership and paid for the new part and the install and i had the car back a couple hours later

i had to pay because of the fact that since i broke the part it wasnt covered under warranty

 

Just got back from my dealership and they said it will be covered under my 3\36000 warranty. However the parts computer said that the part in Nautical Blue was not a valid color for a 2007. I now have to wait for them to call me back while they try to find the part.

 

looks like it depends what shop you go to. There were just two large threads about these and haven't seen anyone get the warranty to cover it.
