Default Mobile HID kit 6000K 08 TC vs. OEM HID Acura TL

VIDEO 1 - 2008 SCION TC - 6000K MOBILE HID

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_dN90tYe_U

VIDEO 2 - 2005 ACURA TL - FACTORY OEM HID

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiRipujFkew

Video 1 is my 2008 Scion TC with Mobile HID 6000K conversion in my stock projectors. Video 2 is my moms 2005 Acura TL with factory HID. Videos are taken on the same road starting at roughly the same point. Wanting to see the difference after reading a lot on retrofiting HID projectors. Judge for yourself. Video 2 is blurry, notice the yellow in the light, it clears up towards the end.

obviously the TL is the winner, more of an even spread than the halogen projector. People who have the 08 headlamps with HIDs are going to vote for what they have (of course), as the others who "see the light" will vote for the other. This is a no competition.

TL ones are better of course. The projectors were designed to handle the lumen power of HIDs bulbs and they have a wider spread. I'm hoping to get my 08 heads soon so that I can do a retrofit

Considering the projector "bowls" of the two are different (tC-halogen; TL-HID), then the TL would be obvious winner.

I actually cant see any obvious diffrence, in fact I like the 6K more than the oem TL, with a different color temp it prolly is a different story.. But I wanna see the cut off of the two

the more "color", the less output.

Honestly, the videos don't really tell the story. Yes the Acura is better, but the tC projectors do a reasonably good job with the HIDs, despite not being designed for them. And with something like headlights, pictures and videos rarely do them justice.

Default My opinion

Yeah the Acura has a wider spread and probably a straighter cutoff. Look at the end when I am pulling into the garage not bad for a little over 100$. Im just saying retrofiting may not be worth it. The camera doesn't do either justice, I see much more light than the camera actually picks up on both videos. Im thinking of trying out the 4300K to get a better comparison. Overall yeah the TL might have a tiny bit more visibility, but damn look at the size of those projectors and there designed for HID. Sure they should put out more light, just saying the stock 08 projectors on the TC aren't as bad as everyone says they are.

The cutoff is shown at the end pulling up the driveway, The TC even puts out a little blue -purple on the line, which u cant see in the video

Cut offs would be better compared while on stop with both cars side by side, it would be nice if can have that.. but yeah the 08 isnt bad at all.. i mean whocares, Im pretty sure you or no one would notice the difference unless you really compare them side by side

Default Snapshots from video

Here are some snapshots taken from the videos. The white light is the TC, the more yellow is the TL. Each pic is taken roughly at the same point.

Whatcha think?

Default I dont know

I dont think you are right, why at the end of the acura video does it become as clear as the Scion video. I think I just screwed up the acura vid at the beggining somehow. You can still see the width of the visible light to the camera, not much difference, that's all I'm trying to prove.

only at the very end of the to bid do you seethe video get clear again white light has more effect on a camera without manual settings to manipulate video than yellow. Also you noticed the foreground limiter the scion projector doesn't have.
