Default mobileHID problems

my hids seems to work fine when you turn them on but sporadically a random one will turn off, usually the right passenger side but sometimes the driver side turns or sometimes both. i have to turn off the light switch and turn it back on to get them to fire them back up but then the cycle resets. i have replaced the relay and it still does it, maybe bad ballasts anyone else have this problem?

bought them in fall 08

sounds like a bad ballast.......cause thats the only thing that will ignite the bulbs....if the bulb or bulbs were shot, they would change different color......but since there not going on at all........most likely the ballast.......you said you had a relay the one that hooks up to the battery to draw power instead of the stock power,if that the case, then there would be fuses on the relay if one of them were short or shot that will prevent the ballast to work proporly also

Check your ground. I had a loose nut where I secured my ground to one of my lights...once I secured it, then the flickering/flashing went away.

THey turn on and there isnt any flickering, one of them just turn off frequently and i have to turn them off to turn them back on.the ground is directly to battery and it seems really secure

Ground it to somewhere on your body, unpainted preferably.

I don't really trust grounding directly to the battery. It technically is not a ground itself, just a cable leading to a ground on the car somewhere.

I've had mobilehid. Its your bulbs. Been there done that.

Got my current bulbs from ebay. Here's the seller: xhidoutlet

They are EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT BULBS!! I love them. Had to file the tabs on the base of the bulbs to fit perfectly but no issues at all. Would buy from again anytime.

Nevermind...
Mobilehid- "Hey All,

We have changed the business a bit and only sell farming equipment now. Please check out xenondepot.com for your lighting needs in the future. They're based out of Toronto, Canada but they ship pretty quick."

this is convenient.....

I highly doubt it is the ballast. MobileHID ballast are very solid. First check your ground wire, second change the fuse in the relay. Next change the relay plug, they die pretty easily. Lastly change the bulbs. I guarantee it is not the ballast.

Ground Wire - Fuse - Relay Plug - Bulbs. One of these are your culprit.
