i just started with my modifications today, i got a circuit board made to about 17" and had 5mm LEDS installed side to side. should be getting that array monday morning. i got the light apart, ill post pix when im done. the DIY looked harder than what im doing. seems like they use the stock 3 arrays and placed them together....kind of messy, im thinking ...more simple and clean.....

we use the same arrays as the stock one to ensure the perfect even brightness and not hassle about the wiring involved.

other methods we have tried and seen do not have the even brightness or even if so.. not as bright as what you start out with with the stock array.

also... 5mm leds are very "spotlightish" and even if you file down the tip to make it flat... the brightness will not look exactly the same as the snapleds on the stock array.

the old diy that ed had first posted over a year ago with 5mm leds were a crap design he threw and tossed aside. i gave him a push when i told him the stock arrays were available to purchase.

it's simple to diy with the kits we provide.. and it's pretty simple.. and clean.

you make it as clean as you want it. add spices for your own taste.

Cool concept... LeD Headz should pic up that design and incorporate it as an option... Nifty.

I do like the concept of the signals in it though... take the LED Headz clean design, with incorporating the signals..
