Default more down force, more drag?

I was looking into purchasing either the carbon fiber front lip or the carbon fiber canards (sp). I know they help with down force and turning stability. Will they destroy your miles per gallon due to increased drag? What are your opinions between the two and why? As always, thanks in advance.

Anything that provides more downforce creates more drag.

On the flip side, those parts do pretty much nothing but look pretty (well.. to those that think they look pretty.. I find canards quite humorous looking.. ) so you dont have to worry about hurting fuel economy with them on the tC

Not destroy, but they definitely won't help.

What applications are you looking to need them in?

CF RS1 lip ftw.

The canards are a little goofy unless you got a fairly wild tC thats able to pull them off. I've seen them a few times pretty well done.

If it's turning stability you're looking for, use the money towards sway bars.

your car will never go fast enough to see any beneficial gains from any of those mods.

awesome. Thanks for the info. This is quickly becoming my favorite forum.

Yeah the Scion is my grocery getter as well as my fun car. That's why I was asking about practicality and whatnot. Do you guys have scionlife decals? Is there a program or something where you can put decals on your car and see where they look best?
