I got the body kit for 918 from the parts counter. The money I saved was not worth the work and hassle to get it installed. When I bought the car I could have paid a few more bucks to have the dealer do it. As a noob to body work, and scared to drill holes in my bumpers and hatch. This work mainly took a long time because I checked everything to the 10th power! The rear lip alone was something like 16 drill holes and 8 dremel holes that connect each pair of drill holes. And you have to make sure you don't over dremel otherwise the kit won't stay in place. So I took my time and man did it take a lot of time. Word of advise, unless you've done this before or have no problems of possibly ruining your nice new 0 milage bumper, let the dealer do it!

The pedestal spoiler was CAKE. Pull off the insides of the hatch, replace the struts, drill eight holes (4 top, 4 below) and slap it on. This took me less then 2 hours to install, mainly from checking everything a million times before drilling. Could have been quicker but the bottom holes are hard to drill because it requires drilling on slopped metal. Word of advise. Don't pay the dealer to install it if you have the means and will power. Just check your marks before drilling and use a good size punch to mark them with. Oh and the holes on the top of the car are big enough to allow you to adjust your spoiler slightly to allign it correctly. My cost from the parts counter - 267 spoiler + 27 for the template. Dealer installed is like 430 ish.

i just ordered a factory bodykit and i plan on installing it once it arrives.

any tips or words of advice? anything you would do differently? (other than paying the dealer to install it)

the holes should already be marked on the inside of the bumper from the factory so you shouldnt have to worry

 

Yah the holes are marked. Just drop the bumpers and start cutting. I would have a friend help stablize the bumper and watch from the inside as you cut from the outside of the bumper, so they can make sure you stay in the lines. Use a low speed dremel that is light weight and easy to handle. The surface of the dremeled edges should be smooth and level when you are done. Also when you are drilling the holes from the inside of the bumper, do with a low speed drill and don't press hard on the drill.... let it slowly work it's way through the bumper.
