Default My Headlight....

I cant figure it out why my driving side headlight bulb runs out so fast. I bought a headlight bulb and after using it for three weeks it ran out. Any ideas why it might burn in a couple of weeks? THANKS

Wear latex gloves. It's the best way to get 0 oil on the bulb. Also, don't do it if it's really humid...i.e foggy or misty outside.

Check your fuses. Make sure they aren't cracked. Could be causing a short. Do you have anything else electrical done to your car?

It does b/c you had to hook up wires right? Make sure all your connections are firmly in place and check ALL of your grounds. Any loose ends may cause a short in unrelated areas of the car. Good luck.

best buy did the installation...but um the power wire sometimes gets disconnected from the amp and that might would be the issue. I will go ahead and check the fuses as well. Thanks WEB!!

you do have a short happening somewhere

do your self a favor and read you manual on fuse locations. i can tell you that the fuse your looking for is right under the steering shaft area. never let bestbuy do anything for you when you can doit yourself. scionlife is always here to help noobs just use the search

use experience techs if want the best results.

word on the worstbuy.. we fix there f-ups everyday... shortcuts arent the word for it...

yeah, you could have a short.. but its not there all the time.. if you had a short, your fuse should blow.. it sounds like the headlight wires themselves could be loose somplace and maybe rubbing up against a ground or the like.. check where they ran the wires through the firewall and see if they drilled into any wires and what not.. but, usualy, that would cause them both to go.. so if its just one side, then it leads me to believe that there is a loose ground or loose power wire that when you hit a bump its gettin that sides bulb.. not sure on how the wires are run yet as i havent taken this car apart yet.. YET.. so not sure if they run to the fuse/relays seperatly or jsut T off.. if they T off, then the problem is your install, cause if one was to go, they would both go as there is no fuse/relay/ between them.. so if one shorts, they both do..
