I have a problem. I have a Lip Spoiler and decided that I wanted a Pedestal Spoiler so I bought one off of ebay for a good price. I got the Pedestal Spoiler and so I took off the Lip Spoiler and saw that the Lip Spoiler had 4 holes in the trunk plate that didn't match up with the Pedestal Spoiler so I asked a body shop if they could fill the holes and they gave me an outrageous price of a 1000 dollars. To order a new trunk piece it would be 610 dollars from the dealership and that's unpainted and without installation. I now have two choices: put the Lip Spoiler back on, or find some way to fill those holes. I could use plugs but I'm not sure where to get them. Could someone please advise me on what to do?

 

Um.... I did the exact same thing. When I bought my 05 tC it had the lip spoiler and I dont think the pedistal spoiler was even available untill later that year, but I took mine to my local shop ( Maurices ) and they charged about $350.00 for patching the holes, repainting, and installation. But $1000.00 is rediculous. If I were you, I'd either take it to another shop to have them do it or get the CF lip spoiler from racingsolution.com to make it look unique. But I wouldn't pay more than $475.00 for install though.

Hey Sciontctuner, do you know if the Kaminari spoiler would just fit over the same spot as the Lip Spoiler? I think the Kaminari one looks really cool so if it fits in the same spot I'll probably just buy that one.

 

yea if its the kaminari LIP spoiler, the race wing will still show the holes.

 

try something new and add the spoiler with the lips on. 1000 or 610 dollars are outrage. Don't even bother.

Sorry man, I cant help you there. I dont know that much about the Kaminari spoiler but it sounds like davedavetc knows his stuff. I have the pedistal so I dont know if it fits.

yeppers.... like davedave says.. kaminari offers a nice flush mount lip spoiler that will cover those holes.. it looks very nice, and relatively new.. and i still don't see many vehicles with them.

i'd get that.

 

Thanks for all your guys' suggestions but I tihnk I'm going to try and make the Pedestal spoiler work some how. Does anyone know where I can get plugs for those holes? I'm thinking about taking that route for now and putting on the spoiler and then getting the holes filled later.

if youre trying to spice up the car, do what squall said and go with the kaminari lip spoiler...its pretty much the only spoiler besides the oem lip and M3 style ones that i actually like

Well take into mind that the plugs will be a temporary thing and that the pedestal will visually cover the plugs some what. So anyone know where I can get some plugs? Lol. I am still considering the Kaminari spoiler though, it's pretty sweet.

 

Well while we're on the topic of holes lol does the Kaminari spoiler the one with the cf blade go in the same holes as the pedestal? I plan on gettin a cf hatch an the kaminari spoiler but I'm not sure which one I'm gettin first so can anyone fill me in?
