Default Need help with an idea.

Okay, since I was a little kid I've been in love with suicide doors. Has this been done on a tC yet?

My idea is to put suis on, and shave the door handles off. Instead of using the standard "poppers" to open them with a button on a keyring, to make use of the new Corvette poppers. I had a friend look into these for me and he said he has found 2 different types. There are the kind that you can place the "button" on the glass near or on the door, or the kind that can be put into the door itself. Chances are if I'm going to do this I'd go for the latter.

What do you guys think about this? Please try to keep it somewhat creative if possible. I don't know how many threads get tossed away after the first reply of something pointless and negative

How do you want us to be creative? You pretty much laid out your plan. Now you just need to do it. I'm pretty sure someone has done it, cause with 3 model years now and a ton of show cars, things like that are pretty standard.

If you were to do it, i dont think i would go with corvette poppers, simply cause they may be wired to only work with the corvette alarm and that could be a expensive option.

I have never done poppers before, but i have seen them for fairly cheap. So i would do some reasearch into aftermarket companies, rather than OEM from a differnt car manufacturer.

Is this car going to be driven on the street more than once a month? Cause trying to find a parking spot that wont smash your doors everytime you get out could be hard.

Yeah sorry about that. I meant if there was going to be any criticism to be creative. I'm at work and my mind tends to numb while here.

I wasn't all that clear with the poppers either now that I reread it. What I meant was the Corvette style ones. Not the actual ones used. Basically the difference is popping them with a key/remote or popping them by touch on the door.

Also, it's my daily driver. I'm not normally driving with anyone in the car so finding space isn't all too difficult. I just pull in a bit closer on the passenger side now anyway. Never seem to have a problem with oepning up now, though I understand it'd be different with the suis trying to get out.

Yanki: I don't like vertical/lambo doors either. Personally I don't think any matches up to the gull wings on the Delorian but suicides are 2nd in my heart.
