The Transit Authority.

Because they make so much money ticketing people for putting brake lights in their headlights!

Wouldn’t the red ones be illegal for normal use? Granted I would like to see them, would be cool looking.

I know this isn't exactly on this topic, but while the lights are opened up, does any company out there sell a clear side marker to replace the orange one thats already in our headlights? I'm talking about the sidemarker that the overlay made by bluebatmobile covers in this next picture

or would putting 10 or so layers of nightshades spray to black it out be better?

Having looked into that myself, I found no other company offers clear corner replacements at this time. However, I can finally announce that I am ready to produce them and will be the first to sell them. The molds are done and I have created these pieces for my own bi-xenon/Demon Eyes retrofit. I'll post a new thread with pics and prices, hopefully as early as tomorrow. I will post a link to that thread here as well. Stay tuned...

The headlamps are custom retrofit of BMW 5-series angel-eye halos, BMW 3-series HID projectors, bulbs and ballasts, custom hand-made shrouds and spray-tinted side marker lenses.

Clicking a picture brings up a high-res version.

I plan to replace the amber front signal bulbs with chrome-plated bulbs that only turn amber when lit. The rear tail lamps will receive similar treatment with the amber and red reflectors spray tinted, but I have yet to decide whether to send out the pair I have or to order a second pair and then swap them in later.

Those pics are a bit old so the front signals are still an amber bulb--I've since replaced them with Solaris, "diamond-coat," Invisi-bulbs; here're those photos:

I am interested in those retrofits Eddnog. How much did it cost you? Did you supply the lights and housing or is the price included with all the hardware. Thanks.

HIDRetro charges $400 for labor and that includes fully insured shipment of the completed lamps. The parts are a separate cost, and he lets you supply the parts if you feel you can find them cheaper than he can; alternatively, if you can't find a better price on the parts than he can, he is willing to source them at no additional cost. I got bought an extra set of headlamps from my dealer and sent them to him, and had him source the rest of the parts.

All told, my lamps came out to about $1,100--that doesn't include the Sylvania Silverstars I kept from my original high beam setup or the Solaris Invisi-bulb signals. It does include the labor, return shipping, the 3-series bi-xenon components, the 5-series angel eye components and the spray-tinted side marker lenses. Installation is fairly straight forward, but I had someone else do it for me anyway. The most difficult item would be mounting the ballasts some place securely; they person who did it for me told me that was the only tricky part, once you have the front bumper off.

I would suggest our LED signal bulbs - they come in both amber and white ;)

Eddnog - demon eyes look great, but they could be a LOT brighter with our kit ;)

Do your signal bulbs include the necessary resistance to prevent quickflash?

If they do, I'm interested. They better not suffer overheat/melting issues, either!

Yes, they do. The resistors also have 15" lengths of wires so you can run them down into the bumper, engine bay - anywhere safe is fine.

The kit is available on our site, www.jlevisw.com, for $40.

Thanks

I was unaware he was doing 5-series and that it would come out skewed on the high beam; it was done with the retrofit as well as the spray tinted side marker lens.

Anyway, it's brighter IRL than my photos would suggest.
