While you have the projectors and if you also have a spare headlights. You can start retrofiting already. As for my HB, it is not HID, hence not D2R. It's just halogen H11 projectors, same as tC 08 projectors. I rebaked the headlights and used silicone to seal it up. Works the best for me.

I have encountered a problem during my headlight project. I just received my optics intense blue 194 bulbs to replace the parking lights. So I went about installing them and....wait a minute, theres a big empty whole where my parking light bulbs used to be. I am thinking that the original shop that installed my current headlights never gave them back. Or would they have used the part somehow to wire my angel eyes to my parking lights? Anyway, I'm down 2 parking light bulb housings and I can't seem to find a website selling replacement ones.

Does anyone have a picture they can show me of their actually parking light bulb housings removed from the headlight, so I know what I'm looking for (whether it be digging through storage, trying to see if they were used for my angel eyes, or purchasing replacements online).

Thanks in advance.

hey what thickness did you go with on the projector mount? i was thinking of doing 1/16" AL, is that ok? also, how do you mount the shroud? and last, when you mount the projector do you just bolt it in? i remember seeing somewhere else where the person put springs around the screws for adjustment, did you do this?

o wait one more. did you put packets of silica get in your headlights when you were done?
thank you for the help.

Man, your post is so confusing. first, I though you're complaining about the missing parking bulbs. When you mentioned the parking bulb housings, you lost me. Are you looking for the OEM reflector?

What do you mean by "thickness"? I have no idea on that question.

I mounted the shrouds using silicone. I have seen people using springs, but the method is risky. Your projectors are not very stable with that setup. Finally, it helps if you have silica gel in your headlights. I forgot to put selica gel in my new retro. It rained horrifically in the past two days, but my headlights had no sign of fog.

OK, to clear things up: I have no parking lights. Where do I get replacement ones?

I just meant that I have this tiny 194 wedge bulb and a hole the size of my thumb to fit it in. Where'd the missing piece go?

<--- still confused? You say you have no parking lights, but you have the bulb in the housing already and its not pluged in?

Well, if you want new parking bulb, I would go on ebay or to your local auto store. The bulb, is like you said, is 194 size.

omg.

how is this so hard to understand

look at a set of stock scion tc headlights. the parking lights are in the low beam reflective housing. if you take out the parking lights, there is a hole where they used to be. NOW, that is what my headlights look like and this is what I have that is supposed to go there:

I am missing the part that I would plug that 194 bulb into. I mean, cmon, what am i supposed to just lay it in the hole and it magically works?

from a different post in these forums.

the red circle furthest down and furthest to the left is what im talking about.

*update* I am missing the lights for the side markers as well.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find my digital camera (I know its around somewhere), but I could write a list of the parts that came off the headlights before I baked them and I would be missing a total of 4 parts (2 parking lights, 2 side marker lights/wiring) from what everyone else would have taken off before baking.

good job chewing people out when they're trying to help you, that will make them want to help you even more.
anyway, noodle, i'm talking about the flat metal bracket you make and JB weld to the reflector inorder to mount the projector. i i'm worried about going too thick and having the projector stick in/out too far.
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=75144
its about the 45th pic exactly half way down the page.

so you didn't use the springs? how do you adjust the beam?

as you can probably tell by now, i'm a complete noob at this hid retrofititng thing and i just like to get all my info. together before i just jump right in.
thank you for the help.

then go to the dealer and dont make threads go off topic. PM a Mod, search or start a thread if all fails to get your question out!

If you need harness, try http://www.rallylights.com. I puchsed two sets of harnesses for my HB of my retro from them. I converted 9005 to H11. If you can;t find 194 socket, email them and ask. If they don't have it, your alternative is to go to the dealer and let them rip you off. Good luck, bud.

Well, first off. the metal bracket thickness will not have much of an impack on the depth of the projectors. However, you want to choose brackets that are easy to cut, but strong enough to hold up the projectors. I don't know which thickness I went for. Keep in mind that when you cut metal to a small piece (like the one that maximus did), it is much stronger than when it was a larger piece. as far as sustainability, I'm sure any metal sheet that you cannot fold with your hands is good for retro. You can adjust your beams with the stock adjuster, but your mobility is limited depending on how close you trim your shrouds to match the housing. As a noob, my only suggestion is to think clear before you do something. Good luck

Wow, first off I wasnt chewing anyone out. And secondly, this is a HID retrofit project thread, for people doing HID retrofit projects. That is exactly what I am doing. I did search. SL, google, and other automotive websites. I couldn't find anything anywhere near relating to my question.

Sorry I asked!

or

Thanks for your help noodle!

cool i can go from there. i did not know that you could still use the stock adjustment screws, this makes things a lot easier. thanks.
also, i like doing custom projects, kind of a hobby of mine that keeps me busy, but i always get as much info. ahead of time as possible so i have a better idea of whats going on.
thank you, you've been really helpful.

how big is the opening on the low beams? (width, depth etc)

and also (im not too sure if someone already asked this) how would i know how deep to put the projector in and what not? wouldnt i have to worry about the focus if it is too far or too close?

thanks in advance! :D

I think they're about 5.4" in diameter. I don't know how deep they are. You have to open and see for yourself. If you spend too much time visualizing, you will not acheive anything. Get a spare, open it and test your fitting. Also, how you position your projectors will not impact the projectors' focus. If you're referring to color mod, then use #8 washer. Test the projectors out before you mount them
