Wow, that's some really good work, how much were the projectors?

 

FX projectors are pretty cheap now. you can probably get a pair for 100 on ebay. But the lenses that I used, 300ZX, are pretty rare.

quick question, what is the ID of the e46 shroud? (where the lense goes through).

 

 

The ID (inner diameter) of the E46 single xenon is 2.5" and Bixenon is 3.0". Use Bixenon

tsx projectors and e46 bixenon shrouds, denso ballasts with 4300k phillips bulbs.

hey 05 trd tc, did you paint your reflectors black or is it a overlay?

 

shroud are really expensive haha, the reflectors was tinted with vht niteside about 4.5 really light coats.

 

cool. does it still reflect light?

very nice. on the lows, are the mdx shrouds just the shiny AL part? if so, what is the black part behind that made of? (what covers the rest of the reflector because it looks like the shroud is only big enough to cover a little around the lense). also are you using the 85122's? how do you like them? any night shots?

how many ballasts are you using? 4? Did you use an abs sheet behind the MDX shrouds?

 

Bulbs, I recommend Philips. Ballasts, you have variety of choices - denso, matsu____a, hella, etc. Aim for 200 for both ballasts and bulbs. Avoid the Bosch ballasts that BMW uses, those burn out pretty quick. I had two that gave up on me.

 

i have one matsu____a ballast with a short harness so i have have to find another ballast and maybe 2 long harnesses and i think i'll go with 85122's for the bulbs.

could you just answer one question for me, i was looking at the wiring diag. on page one of the harness thread on HIDplanet and it shows 2 wires going to the ballast (+/-) but then there is 2 more wires going to another bulb, what is that for? its the diag. labeled "9006/9005 upgraded harness". also, there is a tab on the tsx projector and on the bulb socket on the ballast, do these go together for a ground?
