How can that be a joke. What if hes turning 16 soon. I say get manual. If you don't mind sacrificing a little bit of tired feet for pure enjoyment then thats the one for you. I got my tc when I was 17 and had no clue how to drive manual. It took me 40 min to get the hang of it and a few days of a little practice. I was pealing out and doing burn outs by the end of the week.

ive been driving a manual for 3 years now.. The GOOd? faster then auto, less boring, and best of all saves gas... it helps when ur actually on the road because it will keep u awake.. The BaD? if ur in traffic.. It sucks... ahahah but MOst Def. u should go for ManUaL .. just my two cent..

well im in orange county too and drive to LA once in a while
in traffic...its not as bad as most people think just stay in a low gear and go slow and leave a gap between you and the car in front instead of GO stop GO stop
especially the stock clutch isnt stiff its not a problem at least for me

I think everyone should know how to drive an automobile with a manual transmision. You never know when you might HAVE to....
As for what type of tranny you should go with? I'm guessing you already know what you'd like to have.
If not, then go with what makes you look forward to driving it. I :D everytime I get in my tC!

I would vote manual too. When I got my tC, I had no clue how to drive it off the lot..it was my first time driving stick. Needless to say I only stalled twice on the way home, but learning is part of the fun! Even if it's a little frustrating at first.

ya def get a manual..i also didnt know how to drive stick when i bought the tc.thats exactly why i wanted stick haha.
and the sales person was cool enough to teach me after i got the car.

manual.....bought my car when i was 18, never knew how to dirve a stick, during test drive the sales guy was cool and even teachd me how to drive during the test drive... so i took it stalled once going uphill on the way home, so practiced the rest of the day goin that same hill, until i got it figured out....so once u figured how to go uphill from a stop...it wud be soo easy driving on level ground...
so manual ftw!
so manual ftw!

depends on your driving habit
Auto - kick back style. If you give the keys to someone else (ex: if you're drunk) the designated driver can easily drive the car. Traffic driving is easier. Also, if you drive on slopes alot then auto is for you.
Manual - Spirited style. You get more attention to your car as you shift gears. Enjoyment of the car is so much better with a manual.
I have an auto but know how to drive manual. I'm a kick back kind of guy so I chose auto. That's just me.

get a manual for sure! I was in you position a year and a half ago. I really wanted a manual but my parents didn't want me to get since it was my first car. I ended up with the auto and even today I'm not really happy with it. I plan on giving it to my sister after college and get a real car (one with a manual trans). Yea it is true that in traffic manual will be a b*tch but I think it will be worth the trouble.
