Default Overlays and Light Output

alright, i've seen a lot of these overlays on headlights now, and i have some questions.

1. The light output is lessened with a tint right?
2. Does the color of the light change with the "black" tint?(i.e. yellow overlays=yellow lights)
3. What would the light output be with JUST HID bulbs and not the projectors?(would it be bright enough to seem like normal lights and would the glare be lessened for oncoming traffic?)
4. Would a direct replacement light that has a slight blue tint become white after the overlays?

Basically what I am trying to get at here is this-If I wanted the smoked headlight look, could i achieve OEM or better performance from the headlights? Or is it a mod that would hinder the light performance permanently for the sake of appearance?

Thanks...

Wioth any tint, light output will be affected. I offer a lighter 3/10 tint that is subtle but noticable. Light output is hardly affected at all with my 3/10. It's a comprimise. 6/10 looks nice, but then you sacrifice some light output. See my Gallery below. I also have yellow and Ice Blue which gives off a hyper blue light affect .

But, is there anything i can do to get the 6/10 and not sacrifice any light output? such as put in a brighter bulb.

Possibly, but usually a brighter light means more voltage and if you force more voltage through the harness than it can take, it's going to fry it.
