Default paint carbon fiber hood?

i was thinking of getting a CF hood.. but i think the way our hoods are.. it's too MUCH CF. i don't like how it looks all weird around the front lights and grill area. So i'm thinking maybe paint some of it? and leave some area empty for the CF underneath to show through? how does this look? does it look tacky?

(i took someone's front cf tc picture. sorry whoever that picture belongs too!)

actually.. now that i look at it some more.. i think nah.. too tacky.. but whatevers.. i'm gonna post this up for the hell of it.

You could use the current lines that are already there on the hood...

A bad photochop would look similar to this:

Or a mix between mine and the second one above where the line of carbon would match the lines/curves of the upper grille.

How about no CF hood? Personally I don't see why so many people get them. Unless you have a car that blends in with the hood, it just looks out of place.

I think all three look good here. CF hoods look great on white. But I'm pretty partial to the 2nd pic--it's different than most, and I like it.

I think the cf is perfectly fine the way it is. I also like ack's idea. A CF hood reduces weight but not enough so it would matter but is mostly for show purposes. It creates some contrast and looks best on white IMO.

I like the original and the 2nd pic the best. Albeit there are tons of ways to shave off the unwanted lbs. to your car, but you can't leave out the asthetic value a CF hood brings.

You could get really trick and paint the edges where it looks like they're peeling back and exposing the CF underneath...

Just because you have no imagination doesn't mean the rest of us can't have one. I've seen graphics like that which looked sweet, but it was vinyl graphics CF. Real CF would be tight, IMO. Sorry it doesn't mirror your opinions...

BRO! I was saying that was a good idea! Good ideas should be kept to yourself so, you can be the first one to do it man....geesh! I said you should have kept it FOR yourself, not kept it TO yourself. See the difference?
