not very likely.. although it can be peeled off by hand; to my understanding it's a thin, durable film that would be fine if washed.

You should. Try using some rubbing alchohol on the dots on your glass... They might just be tree sap.

a lot of toyotas have these dots on the rear windows, my mom's camry has em and so does my uncle's avalon. They are not blemishes so mush as like a polka-dotted pattern, am i right? It was discussed a while ago but i don't remember anyone actually finding out what they were, best guess is it has something to do with how they made the glass. I have that on my tC too.

sorry about your paint chipstho, i've got one or two on my bumber... it's not as bad as the whole bottom of my bumper being all scraped up from curbs and speed bumps. 2.5" drop is a lot.

Ok, not saying this is the right explanation, but my mom works for an optician's office. Apparently the dots are a part of the uv tint protection and what-not, and since more regular glasses and sunglasses are coming across with polarization, you can now see things you once couldn't.

Again, I have no idea how much water that theory holds, but its an explanation I've heard.

Yes to my understanding it is, it's apparent in all cars with tempered glass windows, it's just more obvious on the tC's rear hatch due to the angle of it.

Yeah, most new cars have those dots... here's a question: do they fade away in time?

As for the chips, it's a total bummer! I have two on my front bumper as well. Our paint chips so easily!
