I expect some paint chips from stones, but my car has all of these fine scratches on the hood, doors, & trunk. Some on roof line. They show up after I get the car washed. Don't know if it is the wash, or that the scratches are just more visible after a wash. As far as the car being cheap, my Corolla didn't scratch like this. This paint is fragile and with this many problems after 6 months of ownership, I am worried about the long term.

 

Like I have mentioned earlier , I foresee me getting a professional paint job done to this car if I keep it long term .

 

when i bought my tC they said i had two fms to choose from but when i got to the dealer, there was one. they sent the other fm back as well as a 1.0 because of paint issues. the sales manager told me i could wait for them to come back from paint before making a decision. who would buy a new car that had just come back to the lot from a partial repaint?

seemed odd to me that they would even ask.

what?? that's so whack.. did they tell you what the actual "paint problem" on this car was? i'd be curious to find out.. wish I had had this info a few months ago..
