Default Paint Job Suggestions?

Hi. I have a silver tC that I got used a few months ago. I love it, but I hate the silver.

So I want to get it painted when I get some money. I'm thinking red or yellow, not sure yet. Maybe yellow with red flames? (jk)

So,

-How much would you recommend spending for a fairly good paint job that'll last a good amount of time?

-Where should I look to get it done?

-If i'm looking to get a spoiler too, will it be cheaper if I get that first and have it painted with the car?

I don't have any specific budget yet, but under $1000 would be nice, although it depends what I can expect for the money.

Suggestions? Guidance? Why is the text on this site so tiny?

A good paint job is going to roughly cost you around 3000-4000 dollars for a quality paint job that will last a long time. Dont go with any cheap paint place cause it will strip. Hope that helps.

if anything get all the body parts that need to be painted first. then spend the cash to get it all painted all together. Its easier for the paint guy. So then they wont give you 2 quotes. cause if anything . they will charge you 100+ to paint that spoiler. lol But do the research for the color you want. thats the best advice. And im using it.

if you don't like the color, why don't you do a few things to to compliment the car by creating some contrast, like painting brake calipers, different color spoiler, cf lip kit, powder coated wheels, or trade it for a different color!

by the way, silver tc's are the bomb, and you should consider yourself priviledged to have one!

I paid $15,500 for it. I don't think i'm going to find another tC for that price that I like any better.

Creating contrast sounds like a good idea though. It's too flat.

I have seen one silver tC that I really like, but it'll cost waaay over $4000 to get it to look like this:

well, anyway, repainting the whole car is expensive, they have to sand off your existing paint, prime it, paint it, not just the outside, but the door jams and so on. for a quality job, your going to have to pay way more than 1000 dollars. if you do, your just going to hate it even more when it crack and peels and looks like ricer trash that you'll end up selling for beans because nobody want's a tc with crappy paint job. so either pay for quality work which is expensive, or find a way to make the paintjob likable.

yeah, we are talking a good, high quality repaint. he doesn't want to repaint the car silver, he wants to repaint it to blue or green, which takes considerable more time and effort.

This is my first car that i've actually cared about (I wasn't about to buy rims for my Oldsmobile) so I have no idea how much things cost in terms of aftermarket parts, hence my cluelessness.

Would I need to get new tires to get those same rims? They look bigger than the stock tires to me.

I can't find the price of those wheels anywhere. No mention of price on the manufactures site (Why don't people show prices? It's so stupid), and I didn't see anything on google either.

Also, about how much for a window tint?

Thanks for your help so far btw.

hell, i got my tint for $125 with a lifetime warranty. lots of places do it for less

if you get wheels that a different size than what your stock wheels are, you'll have to get new tires mounted and balanced. i don't know how much those wheels cost, but they didn't fit well, if you read on, he had to modifty the calipers to fit them up front.

http://www.edgeracing.com/

you should be able to find a good wheel and tire combo from that place. for like a grand or so.

the rest of his mods are bolt on, i'd say they cost maybe another grand for the headers, cai, grounding wires and nology hotwires (those are useless by the way, just a look).

oh, and he has s tech springs, strut tower brace, another couple hundred, but those are pretty cosmetic, for the super low look.

Hey man, that silver TC looks nice, but yeah it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to achieve that look. I'm not sure what kind of rims those are, but you can find plenty of decent rim & tire packages online (check out www.edgeracing.com and www.wheelsnext.com) for under $1000. A decent tint should run anywhere from $120-$200.

I'm not sure how that tc is lowered, but you can get lowering springs between $150 and $250. Installation for these will probably run around $200 (unless you can do them yourself and find a buddy).

So yeah, if you found a wheel&tire package for around $800, tint for $150, lowering springs for $175, you're looking at $1125 total (not bad huh?). Oh yeah he's also got the honda s2000 short antenna on there so add another $25 (haha).

Not bad at all! I'm surprised all that stuff costs less than simply painting the car a different color. I guess the time put into it costs more than materials.
So this is probably the order of upgrades i'm going to do:

1) Spoiler
2) LED Taillights
3) Decide if my chrome plate frames are tacky
4) Tint
5) Rims
6) Lowering

...Man, I need to find a job.

you can also do mods such as remove the scion emblems and paint them , but since yours is silver u can leave it at that. get a nice spoiler, ped, or a kaminari, go with tyc tails and if getting new headlights, go with an anzo style with new HIDs. just some suggestions there for ya.
