1. spoiler: you can order the spoiler in a different color, or one made out of cf for contrast
2. i reccommend the tyc tails made for our cars. don't be surprised if the cheap stuff on ebay burns out on you!
3. chrome is for vip and trucks and muscle cars
4. tint, nothing wrong with that, unless the police say so.
5. rims, bigger is not better, you don't want to just buy the biggest ones you can get, stay with lightweight rims
6. lowering, you should get trd shocks and springs because simply using springs on stock shocks can lead to a blow out.

I need 18" rims for the stock wheels, right?

Also, I looked and found out that NJ window tint laws suck and don't allow any tint on the front or front side windows. A tint on the tiny rear side windows and rear would look stupid so that's out.

tinting the front side windows is illegal in a lot of states, but people still do it.

stock wheels are 17" except on the rs1 tc's. go to the wheel and tire forum, there is a sticky there about what fits the tc. as for tint, tint in md is legal up to 35%, but i got 20% and never looked back, and i got it in spring of 05, and yes, i have been pulled over many time for speeding.

then there is this one guy at the fitzmall dealership with an eclipse that has windows tinted to 0%. that i can't understand...not even windows anymore!

yeah, it really just depends on the cops in your area. also, are you from pensylvania or new jersey? if you have pensylvania plates, nj cops can't tell you $#!t about your tint no matter how often your there because your tc has to conform to penn. car laws.

if you get pulled over, immediately turn on your interior lights so that the cop can see clearly inside. that is the biggest fear about tints is that cops can't see inside and can't tell if they are walking up to a perp aiming a gun right at them until it is too late.

also, get your tint based on where and when you drive. if you live and drive in a city alot at night and you can see really well, you can get a darker tint. when i'm in the middle of nowhere and there are no lights, i hate not being to clearly see out my side windows.

also, there is no need to tint your windshield. it isn't necessary. stay safe for night drivng!

I live in PA but the plates are NJ because my dad lives in NJ and the insurance is under his name. I could probably register it in PA if I really wanted to but it'll be a pain.

Also, the interior lights tip is a good idea. I don't blame them for being jumpy about that.

if you plan on getting a kit, widebody.

id say you get the kit first then paint it with the new color you want.

dont waste your money to have the kit painted silver then it will just be painted your next color.

also it will be cheaper to paint the whole car+kit all at once

rather then paint the car. few months later paint a new kit

Here's a FAQ I wrote up on another forum I'm on that might help you know what to look for, why prices vary so much, etc. there was TONS of posts constantly about "How much will this cost?" "How much will that cost?"... so I wrote a post, and they made it a sticky.

I wrote one up for this site more tailored to this site... but I guess no one really thought it to be that helpful or anything... there was 1 reply and I can't find the bookmark for it

anyway... hope this helps... and if you have any questions feel free to ask (I did spend years doing auto body/paint before my knee gave out)
