Looks good. Did you use the duplicolor kit?

Sweet, how long ago did you paint them? I only ask because I've been thinking about doing it and and I just want to know how the paint holds up over time and through the elements.

I did not just paint mine, it just took a long time for me to get my caliper pics up, its been 8 months since I painted mine, and yesterday I had like 3 or 4 small little chips in them that I jsut touched up and its as good as new, depending on the conditions your car endures and the quaility of the paint you use and how many coats will make the outcome of them.

I used the duplicolor brake paint kit. I did mine last year in july of 2006. but i put the car up for winter. As with the wear and tear i'll have to do it again as it dose chip off just from normal driving. i would use some good break cleaner and clean your calipers very well befor applying any paint and make sure its high temp paint. calipers do get quite hot. i took my calipers right off and took out the pads when i did mine. but you don't have to go that far you can leave them on.just tape of what you don't want to get paint on.

To help with chips and nicks, don't forget to clear coat after you finish painting the calipers.

Use the G2 kit and brush it . Duplicolor does not hold up as well . G2 hardens to a rubberized material that makes it very difficult to chip . Rocks and such just bounce off . Look at mine . TRD on there too ! WoooHooo . And I used clearcoat too , just as a precaution to keep the lettering on and safe . I put about 2 coats on each . It is well worth spending a couple of hours , start to finish . ( You know . Putting the car on stands , removing the wheels and so on ) . Also , brushing them makes so you do not have to take the calipers off the car and do not need to mask anything off . I STRONGLY recommend using G2 . Looks good on you
Good luck

neodude .
I have had this done about a year . If someone had the G2 on their car , you could feel it and tell it should be little problem with chipping . Knock on wood , no problem at all here . NONE . It would damn near take a boulder at high speed to take that stuff off . Of course , if money is not an issue , powdercoat them . I thought about that but , glad I saved the money and went with G2 . That stuff is awesome . Again , it hardens in a rubberized form . Hard to chip something that thick and gives .
Let us know how you go though .

i wont be doing anything with it for a month or two, powdercoating is like 4th on the to-do list of things to buy for the car. i've gotta buy an autopower roll bar first, get the interior sueded, etc etc etc

I forget where i bought mine .I know Tirerack sells it as well as many others . Google for best price . I got mine for $ 35 shipped . Not sure about now . As for heat build up . Not a problem unless you race and brake alot . Speed and normal driving have caused no problem . Remember , these are calipers . They can still breathe as only the outer part is painted . Causes no problems for pads or rotors obviously . What really sold me is how it felt when hardened . It is also heat resistant up to 950 degrees . Not that it matters . lol . Anyway , it comes in all kinds of colors . This stuff hardens quick .When you pour the activator into the paint , I think you have about 2 hours or so . Can easily be done in that time . Just do not activate it until your wheels are off and you are ready to go .

het touge . I think that is a photochopped deal by matt . lol . If not , he needs new wheels !!

Hi guy .
I bought the claer at AutoZone . I use Dupli Color engine enamel Clear . I need to get a close up pic for you . Mine are a little more than a year old and glossy as Hell . They look brand new . The G2 shine just has not faded . I do not think you really need the clear but , it will not hurt . G2 holds up much better than Dupli Color .
Good luck
