Anyone paint theirs? What paint did you use? Tomorrow I'm going to paint my fuse cover and my valve cover,
thinking of doing the heat shield too, can it be done with normal high heat paint?

I did it, this was bout a yr ago......Blue High Heat from Duplicolor, the 1500F one just to be safe..I'm sure the 500F works too.

I DO NOT HAVE THAT GRILL ANYMORE BTW, it was cheap gutter guard from Home Depot....

AND ADD A LITTLE LIGHTING

I 2-toned my Heat Shield...due to having Probs getting it off!..

I like it..its different!...

 

i POWDERCOATED my heat shield...lasts longer and holds up to any temp.

i did mine in black with regular paint and it looks just as good as the day i painted it.

 

is the heat sheild made of aluminum?

 

Galvanized sheetmetal.

 

Did mine too... I think it was high temp engine enamel or something... in some lighting it has a brownish tint to it though... but it's really flat black. I think there's some ceramic in it or something like that. I forget:



The two tone thing is cool though.. even if it wasn't completely intentional.

tonight with the help of my club we got painted my header cover, valve cover, fuse cover and brake calipers... ill get pics up once i get the rest of my engine dress up in...

(dr. iso shroud cover, and some red loom along with some red covers for the oil cap and other caps...)

 

Did you actually paint the real valve cover or just the plastic engine cover over it?

i used kyrlon gloss white cma eout good

 

i painted mine green then thought it looked retarded, so i just took it off and threw it out.

everyone always asked if i had a header, im like no thats stock, but no one would believe me. haha
