Permanent marker... Anyone?
So this CRAZY ___ %^&$* wrote an obscenity all over my car, with permanent marker.
Wondering: Any solvent or any sort of magic short of a miracle gonna help me avoid paying over 7000 for new body panels?
let a brother know...
Im gonna kill her.

Have you tried calling a body shop to see what they'd recommend doing? They might know of something that would easily buff it out.
Also, have you filed a police report? I know I would... especially if you have any idea at all who might have done it.

hmm i dont know if the same concept works on clearcoat, but i heard that on a whiteboard if someone writes with sharpie, write over it with dry erase marker and it'll wipe off with a dry eraser.
I dont know if it'll work the same on the car but it does on a white board. Its a trick i read somewhere, tried it out and it actually works.
If someone writes on a white board with a permenant marker , you just write over it with a dry erase marker and erase as usual and it comes off. again not sure if it'll work on the car and whether the eraser will put scratches on the paint.
i would try it with a towel or something

Definately don't use the magic eraser. Especially on a BSP. You will have gnarly swirl makes everywhere.
A friend of mine had this happen to him, and he gave a detailer $20 and they buffed his whole car back to brand new, taking off the marker and all. Buffing is the least abrasive method IMO.

turtle makes a slightly abrasive paste that might take it off, it's called rubbing compound. I drove through spilled paint with my old car and it took it right off. you can get it at walmart or any auto parts store and it's under $10. Worth a shot.

the sharpie/dry erase market would be the lease abbrassive start. And a buck for a marker and a use a soft terry clothe to wipe it off would be a golden start. Dry erase markers work on a lot of things... and I dont see why the same concept cant be used on a clearcoat.
Sorry to Intrude.
